Wrong. It'd be the exact opposite, actually:

this would feel redundant with gold, if they want to lower numbers it's better to introduce deflation or just squish numbers

999,999 if you divide it by 100 (as in 100 gold=1 platinum, like all the rest) is not 99,999, it is 9999

come on ielenia it is basic math, when you divide something by 100 you move the decimal 2 digits to the left, not 1 like the image above has.
    1234/100=12.34
what this image has done is divide by 10
    1234/10=123.4

If you had 999,999 gold and platinum got added you would have 9999 platinum and 99 gold.

cause you need to remember, the coin count in your bag is literally just a decimel, and moving the decimel does not change the total number of digits, just the amount in each.
Look at it this way, you have on the left
    999,999.99.99 gold
    on the right you have
    99,999.99.99.99 platinum
    it should actually be
    9999.99.99.99 platinum

it is longer cause there is another coin icon, but it would be the exact same amount of numbers, so you, or whover made this image did their math wrong.

We could also not fail at math.

Platinum would not really do anything for actually reducing the numbers in our bag, all it does is reduce the total number of things being purchased, as long as they are solid numbers.

    What platinum would fix is

"i want to buy this item for 6,478,200 gold"
    It would make it
"I want to buy this item for 64,782 platinum"
Which would reduce the number when using ONLY platinum.

but have an item for sale of
    6,478,231 gold, 42 silver, 22 copper"
and suddenly it becomes LONGER when you make it platinum
    64,782 platinum, 31 gold, 42 silver, 22 copper"

hell we could go all out and do this, and it wouldnt change the numbers

    999,999 gold 99 silver 99 copper becomes
    9 cobalt 9 mithril 9 titanium 9 platinum 9 gold 9 silver 9 iron 9 tin 9 brass 9 copper

we have now divided up the currency to the extreme, meaning you may say "i will give you 1 cobalt for that" but notice how its the exact same amount of numbers, which means in hard even values it works fine, but then ya know

"BUYYING THUNDERFURY BLESSED BLADE OF THE SPAMSEEKER 1 COBALT 2 MITHRIL 3 TITANIUM 4 PLATINUM 5 GOLD 6 SILVER 7 IRON 8 TIN 9 BRASS 1 COPPER!"

Instead of "BUYYING THUNDERFURY BLESSED BLADE OF THE SPAMSEEKER 123,456 GOLD, 67 SILVER, 91 COPPER!"

That's not the point, though. The whole argument is "showing less numbers" on your backpack. And adding a fourth basic currency (platinum) would not only NOT "show less numbers" on your backpack, but would actually show more.

The left picture has roughly 20% of "free space" between the last digit and the other corner of the bar. The right picture, on the other hand, even if we cut off the last digit to make the currency amount the same, it's still less space than how it is right now.

come on ielenia it is basic math,
Perhaps don't fail to understand the argument first before accusing others of "failing math"?

But let's talk about "failing basic math". With how currencies is, we can have a higher cap, because the original also allows the addition of at least four more digits. Adding platinum would only allow for the addition of two more digits, at best. Now, basic math: which one would give us higher numbers?

It would not show more numbers, that is the point Ielenia. it shows another icon, that is not a number, it does increase the total space taken, as i gave in examples above, but it does not increase the number.

    999,999 gold 99 silver 99 copper
    9999 platinum 99 gold 99 silver 99 copper

the second is obviously longer overall, but it does not have "more numbers" as you keep saying, especially as the example you gave was right out wrong and added an extra number.

Bro... if we want to "allow for more numbers" by that logic we should remove gold and silver, and only use copper, as that would allow for "the most space" on the UI, with less coin Ui elements needing to be shown, but that does not suddenly adjust the actual number, all it does is adjust the spacing, which could easily be fixed...

come on dude, just admit you were wrong. "UI space" is not basic math, UI space is easily adjustable, if they added a million different coin types they could easily make the Ui accomidate that, so your weird rebuttal does not even make sense.
but adding these currencies would not change the amount of numbers shown, that is literally the point my dude, platinum would not increase, or decrease number bloat, it would only increase UI bloat.

with "basic math" they change nothing, because the Ui can literally be changed in an instant, With your basic math, as stated above, if we wanted to have "less numbers" we would remove gold and silver, and drop to only using copper. again, changing nothing in the actual numbers used, but change the UI, that is it, you keep changing your argument, in your top half you say

But then you flip your argument into "actually the UI"

    CAUSE AGAIN

gold, silver, plat, dont exist, it is just a number with decimels.
