Sure seems it is fine now that almost every Republican has tweeted it or has said it.

All of the posters who were vehemently against defund the police are now mysteriously absent from this thread.

    Who'da thunk it?
Plenty of people have been holding their breath waiting for me to fail. I think they all suffocated years ago.

Seems to be as stupid as defund the police is.

Yes, it surely is - and the US is sliding further backwards, as Trump said 'The Mob takes the 5th'.

As soon as institutions are perceived (and in some cases fact already are) politicized there's a real danger that it will create a vicious cycle, as in failed states, where people see (imagined or real) injustice and don't want to fix it, but instead ensure that they themselves benefit.

However, "defund the FBI" will likely soon disappear as a slogan and seems best discussed in the political threads.

Yes, it's a shame that the supreme court has been packed with fundie conservative judges who rule based on the "bible" and not the constitution, but at least Trump might face justice. We already got Alex Jones for the terrible things he did.

The product of their bad faith arguments coming to bite them in the ass.

And you have the people on the left who allowed them to control the narrative.

    Hate to see it.

    - - - Updated - - -

We've already established that 'defund the police' is not about abolishing police (unless you want to claim a very small group of people speak for everyone) and that attempts to changer the slogan were made, mainstream media and politicians allowed bad faith actors to steer the ship.

I don't see many people arguing the true intent of the moment, to reallocate funds for training/new class of responders. We have to beat keep being the "bad slogan" horse that died eons ago. I definitely have not seen any comments that suggest more funding means better law enforcement or that specialized training/divisions will somehow collapse law enforcement.

Now we have people, people who are actually unhinged, violent, yada yada, talking about ACTUAL ABOLISHMENT AND NOT JUST BAD MARKETING. They using the slogan "reasonable moderates" allowed them warp because those "reasonable moderates" validated the bad faith arguments.

Because this thread I assume is about your basic police officers, not the FBI. I find the Republicans that have been screaming Defund the FBI to be morons.

I think it's pretty obvious that republicans only support the police unless it's getting in their way evidenced by the Jan 6th insurrection and its fallout.

No, what stupid idiot would say "defund"?

No, you need to FUND YOUR DAMN SYSTEM!

You need to actually demand a longer education, and fill up the needed courses. There should be no badge or service until you've passed a 4+ year education.

Defunding the police is idiot talk, and does not solve the problem within the force, or within the people of the nation - just makes it worse.

Structure. Build up before it crumbles down.
FOMO: "Fear Of Missing Out", also commonly known as people with a mental issue of managing time and activities, many expecting others to fit into their schedule so they don't miss out on things to come. If FOMO becomes a problem for you, do seek help, it can be a very unhealthy lifestyle..

The left: Defund the police to make it less militarized in urban areas, and more responsive to the minority communities it serves.

The right: Defund the police because they're going after our God-King Trump for committing crimes.

You can't make this stuff up.

I don't believe in defuding the Police. I believe in Open Discussion to find the root of problems.

The system doesn't work. It's a mascerade. They want Laws so the poor and middle people obey, and don't set everything on fire. But they also want the cops and feds to ignore whenever the rich and elite ignore the Law. Proving it ain't real - just one group of people trying to say the other group of people are guilty. Makes you even wonder what the Law actually is - is there any purpose behind it? Or is someone just pulling something out of their ass like a Tyrant? Like who was it? King James saying - My foot is now the measurement of the world" or some crap?

So they avoid hiring genius cops. You don't want a super cop using super intiuition arresting your bosses and donors.

So there's this whole LARP and charade - The Lawwww. Justice is blind.

The Law is what you make of it, personally, to me. The morals you wanna live by. I fear God so I allign my morals with Justice and Do Good, personally.

I learned that Hate Laws and Cyber Laws - they pulled both of these out of their ass to confuse citizens. It's akin to calling it Super Crimes - acting like regular crime wasn't enough. Have to Up it to Super Level and put it a word from it. Breaking and entering wasn't already illegal with reason, but watch out for that Computer Hacking! Fancy Science words! Be confused, don't research and ask questions! Trust and obey!

    Anyway.

Isms bore me. I think they are only brought by people who seek to marginalize the potential of each ism to provide something meaningful. Name it, Capitalism, Socialism, even Communism-- all contain something of merit towards structuring a society. The biggest flaw in human history has been the need to take the worst of a system along with the best. It doesn't have to be all of one and none of another.

This is Mall Cop advocating for Penny, a man who choked a black mentally ill homeless man for 15 minutes, to his death, to be exonerated. He also is lying at the end as he has continued to defend the murder after new evidence was shown.
