What's Blizz's next step when the DF Hype is gone??

It's not news to any of the old players that the new content that appears at the beginning of every expansion loses grace in
about 4 or 6 months after launch. And I very much doubt that Dractyrs , dragonriding and the new talent tree will be some exception to this rule.

Blizzard knows this too and so it must already have a "rabbit in the hat" to keep us "busy" when the initial hype of DragonFlight is lost.
    And here's my bet:
They will release Dractyrs for all classes.
    What do you think?

10.1 is already partially in the data, so whatever that is.

Dracthyr for all classes would probably make more sense than for all races first, so on that I could believe it, but you're not really offering an argument here lol. You're just saying "do this."

    Reasons I doubt:

    1. The race is very tied to it's many custom animations, so it would take some work.

    2. They have been marketing it as a race-class locked experience this whole time and 10.1 is already planned and underway--i doubt they would do a 180 like that in a patch already in the oven.

If that were to happen, I'd expect end of the expansion.

What is gonna happen in 4-6 months after launch? Same thing that happened every other time, they will announce and release 10.1. New zone (we alr got hints of it), new raid, new dungeon, new mogs, and other stuff. Will that be Dracthyrs for all classes? I think that would be waaay to soon for that.
Sometimes, the light of the moon is a key to other spaces. I've found a place where, for a night or two, the streets curve in unfamiliar ways. If I walk here, I might find insight, or I might be touched by madness.

this isnt gonna happen, they havent let every other race be every class when that wouldnt have any issues

people dont seem to understand, this isnt a race AND a class, this is just a race, the dragon race is the class itself,a gnome wont be able to fly and tailswipe

Hope you don't frequent casinos. What a terrible bet. Potentially changing how a brand new race works is far down the road. Blizzard wants people playing the Evoker. The first patch cycle is much too soon.

10.1 will be the same as any other .1 (or .15) in expansion history.

If they were going to do that it would just be a launch feature.

We'll probably see standard x.1 patch and then I imagine a small patch with updated BfA AR customizations and BfA time walking. Maybe the return of the Brawler's guild. I think expecting anything more will be setting yourself up for disappointment.

Fast and regular patches are ONLY solution. 9.0 had very few issues compared to 8.0 or even 7.0, but 8 month gap buried all hype.

The answer is obvious, a cool looking 6-month subscription reward mount.

While I do not expect all classes, I think that when they release the Dracthyr introductory zone as patch content they will also add a few classes to the Dracthyr. Obviously not ALL of them, most likely none of the ones that require a lot of special effort (e.g. druid) but certainly a couple of options that will round up roles (rogue, warrior, hunter, mage thus giving them tanks and melee)

WoW only needs a decent content cadence.

I doubt it will ever get to Legion levels again since that doesn't seem to be sustainable (Diablo team helped out with Legion and they certainly borrowed time from WoD), but the game seriously needs something better than Shadowlands, I'd even say BfA was a bit slow.

Wdym "4-6 months after launch"? Let's be real, DF content is probably gonna be stale after 1 month already, simply because there's just nothing new.

Maybe dragon steering will be a fun thing for a while, sure. But other than that, actual gameplay and content, there's nothing but m+ / a single raid or the very same pvp we already have. That content is gonna feel relatively fresh due to talents, but even that is quickly going to go away.

2 weeks after raid launch you will have seen everything the expansion has to offer. 2 weeks later and you'll probably have peak enjoyed it by then - again, because by then you'll have seen it all. I doubt there's gonna be 4 months worth of dragon gliding, so it's really back to more of what we already have pretty much immediately. No warfronts, no islands, no Torghast, no Mage Tower, no Scenarios, no nothing.

So, as always, more than like half of the playerbase will quit within a month... and the other half will stick around for 4 months because they're content with doing the same raid / the same 8 dungeons 50 times over before getting bored of it. Maybe you'll retain 5 more people who just love dragon swooping so much that they'll exclusively 6-month sub for that. Other than that... it's the same fucking game... just with even less new stuff this time around.

What are they gonna do about it? The same as always. Release a copy&paste daily / treasure / rare mob / rep grind zone 3-4 months after release, release a raid 2 months after, release another copy&paste catch up zone, release another raid and a mega dungeon after that, repeat. I doubt we're gonna get like 2 month content update cycles, I doubt we get anything innovative, I expect more of the same Zereth Mortis / Korthia / Nazjatar / Mechagon / Argus / Broken Isles whatever zones... but this time it's gonna have this one new jumpy puzzle thing... and that's gonna be it. Because with very few exceptions... that's been it for the last like decade now.

Legion bringing out bangers like the Mager Tower completely out of nowhere or randomly surprising everyone by introducing mid-expansion dungeons was an anomaly. There's nothing indicating that not being the case unless you wanna count 8.3 Nzoth visions.

Legion and WoD were being worked on in parallel. The A team was working in Legion and the B team(with all the new hires) were working on WoD. Legion had 4 years of dev time due to the large systems changes and the amount if art required for the artifacts and order halls.

WoD suffered from onboarding issues with new devs taking a long time to learn Blizzards in house dev tools. Nothing was borrowed from WoD. The WoD team was too slow to reach milestones and get everything done in time so cuts were made, and were made long before release.

Yes, the hype or lack of, at this point is quite irrelevant, it's coming down to regular content updates. 1 patch per year, like we had in SL, will cancel the subscriptions of my guild and I imagine of many other people.

That's an insane amount of animation and rigging work for a mid expansion patch. Not gonna happen.
Your persistence of vision does not come without great sacrifice. Let go of the tangible mass of your mind, it is only an illusion. There is no escape.. For the soul burns on everlasting encapsulated within infinite time. A thousand year journey at the blink of an eye... Humanity is dust..

    Bit early isn't it?

They will do the same thing as always. If DF hits with the players they will release a raid, a dungeon and some form of hub with new content and quests.

I don't think they EVER did something else and if this stuff is good i don't see a reason why. Not like other MMOs are doing it differently.
Stuff for raiders, small groups and single players with catch up for everybody. The SP will still complain that there is stuff they can't do. Blizz will nerf it and no one will do it anymore because it became boring.

My problem is rather that they have been saying for YEARS they want a more consistent schedule. And they never delivered. So i highly doubt they will do this now.

Drakthyr won't be able to get new classes until at least 11.0 if at all, blizz is allready to lazy to implement transmog for them, and Other races will never be Evoker... you know... no wings?^^
Also DH are still elve only and they are way easier to reason for other races. So no. Other races will never be evokers.

They already gave the answer in an interview: Dragonflight will have more frequent, but smaller patches. Having to wait 6 months for a bulk will see content consumed much fasteron release and burnout occur way earlier, because of lack of stuff to do. If they're actually going to execute properly, we will have to see.

Sim. Ainda estou. Não lembro do seu nick. Voce usava outro nick?

I think my mistake in this thread was estimating Dractyr gaining new classes too soon. I still believe that at some point not too far away (still in dragonflight maybe) we will have Dractyrs of other classes. And why do I think so?? Because I'm pretty sure this will be player-base's top request very soon...!
