The problem is as soon associate text or numbers with pictures, the icons lose their intended purpose: namely "to not use text" in the first place.

I don't think that's the intended purpose of the change. It's not being changed to dissociate the meaning of words, it's just a minor detail that ultimately means nothing to anybody, has absolutely zero (relevant) downsides and only the potential upside of making the game feel more welcoming to all walks of life.

I just described a potential downside in "ranking" certain bodytypes by numbers among many players.
Those players in turn would then feel even more disadvantaged than having a body type described as more feminine or masculine to begin with.

Words and numbers always carry more strictly-defined meaning than pictures, whether we like it or not.
