For sure. Not sure what people are looking at, defiantly not EU. I was so dumb to look up a random asus 2060 model, and it was from 2019 launch to now only about 40 dollars cheaper than launch price according to price history...RIP. During all this BS its price was also doubble.

I wish the dip you speak of - - - was more a dip lol, i still use a GTX 1060 6GB and its starting to show its age [not even sure how old it is] - - - I bet i would see a massive improvement without spending a fortune lol..

The dip is there for US mostly, but its in Europe also, not sure why people are complaining.

For some reason people believe "dip" means they will buy a 3080 for 300$.

Right now in my country there are 3060 Tis for 490e which is cheap as fuck considering its a 650e+ card even on good days following the pricing pre-crypto boom.

Mean GPUs were always expensive and we see all parties wishing to keep prices high but right now theres nothing allowing the prices to be kept high esp the perfect storm we had.

Most of the western world is back to work so less free time now, normal GPU mining is not a thing right now and if it came back, it be another long time for that, but we in theory shouldn't be in another lockdown.

The prices for next GPUs may start high as Jensen hopes but whos going to be buying them?

Both AMD and Nvidia will be forced to reduce prices very fast as theres no longer a demand anymore, in the UK, you can now buy PS5s way more easily, in fact I can order one now normally, if the PS5 can be bought for normal, then GPUs will be way easier.

(don't kid you self if you think its easier to get hold of a reasonable cost GPU over a PS5)

Nvidia have announced the 4090 and two 4080s. The 4090 will launch on Oct 12th at $1,600 and the 4080 in Nov at $1,200 for the 16GB and $900 for the 12GB. No news of the 4070 yet but it is rumoured to be released sometime in Q1 '23.

The 4080 12GB is basically a disguised 4070ti looks like.

With the prices being what they are at MSRP I doubt those cards will be affordable anytime soon. 900$ USD MSRP means I'll likely have to shell out 1.5k canadabucks to get ahold of one. Think I'll keep my 3070 which I already paid a bit too much for early 2021, skip this gen and check out the 50xx gen in 2-3 years or so, unless Nvidia prices the 4070/4060ti much more competitively which I doubt.

Curious if AMD swoops in with more reasonable prices and seizes a market share for people who want decent GPUs without 1) having to wait a long time for them to be available and 2) having to pay more than the price of a game console for the thing.

Should note they don't have a founders for the 4080 x70 edition, hence the MSRP is just a number. AIBs will decide what the real price is. I would expect it to be at least $1000 US.

About AMD, if they are faster, I don't see why they wouldn't do the same pricing. And they've been pushing for more margins to develop the company. But who knows. They might also read the room and realise that people don't want to use $1k+ on GPU anymore with all the inflation.

Nvidia trying to sell the 4070 board/cut chip as a 900 $/€ '4080' product (just look at the detailed specs, bus, cores). Throwing in misleading '2-4x' performance gains (they're talking RT in reality).
They also doubled down on keeping current gen 3060s on shelves at the 1.5 year old msrp.
    They can fuck off.

Are AMD video cards compatible with Intel i7 motherboards?

What you gonna do? Buy AMD GPU with... FSR 2.0? xD

Thank you for your sacrifice, it might lower prices of good GPUs a bit o7

A 3080 is a very good card that will last you for a long time and i doubt they will drop much more in the near future even with the 40x on the way.
Do you hear the voices too?

I don't really understand your point, 40-series is too expensive for the majority and DLSS 3.0 is limited to them.

Video cards have nothing to do with the CPU.
It has more to do with the PCI Express slot.

They're increasingly anti-consumer, I will just ignore this product, no skin off my back.

i don't think this is the sick burn you thought it was, for a few reasons, primarily because AMD said that their RDNA graphics architecture would age alongside their Ryzen CPU architecture and would mature over time, if the gains seen from Ryzen can be reflected in the Radeon branch of AMD then i highly suspect we will see a pretty big swing in both uptake and sentiment towards AMD as not only a competitor to Nvidia, but actually market leading as we have seen for almost 6 years now with Ryzen against Intel, which at this point in time has AMD worth more than Intel for the first time in their history as a company with the current modern setups.

i'm genuinely interested to see what AMD brings to market, considering that they pioneered the S.A.M. technology which Nvidia and Intel scrambled to have as a feature on the 30 series cards a year later and was so badly rushed it actually punished people for using resizable BAR instead of the AMD version of the feature providing actual benefits to the user.

this is just one example of many that exist that show just how worried Nvidia are about AMD, and i pray that this newest generation launch screws Nvidia so hard that it knocks them down a peg because it needs to happen.

I might get the cheaper 4080 if my 2080 decides to die on me.

Otherwise, no desire to get a new GPU.

If the AMD GPU is priced relatively fairly and FSR 2.0 works well enough that does sound like a good deal for a bunch of people.

A lot of the market is still stuck with a 1060 or near enough card, to me this indicates that there's untapped potential for lower range cards that Nvidia has ignored in favor of pushing forever higher specs and prices even for their lower end.
