    RIP Personal Loot

While I agree that personal loot has a place as a great system for pugs, I couldn't be happier to see Blizzard make the right decision to remove it entirely.

I've argued this for over 4 years with people here, feels great to be right.

I don't mind Group Loot for planned/Guild runs but for pugs, it is crap, and I sure hope LFR is still private loot.
FOMO: "Fear Of Missing Out", also commonly known as people with a mental issue of managing time and activities, many expecting others to fit into their schedule so they don't miss out on things to come. If FOMO becomes a problem for you, do seek help, it can be a very unhealthy lifestyle..

Another great benefit of finally coming to their senses and abolishing personal loot is it opens up opportunities to make a lot of gold. GDKPs practically back in effect.

It's arguably the most asinine change to the expansion. Only rivaled in stupidity by those that think it's healthy for the game.

You can expect raid participation to be at an all time low after the initial surge.

I imagine players that are used to showing up when they want, getting gear, and leaving guilds are not going to be happy with this change. Fuck em, they're worthless.

You already made this thread a ways back.

Also just because blizz makes a dumb decision doesn't mean you're right.

They've said this is an experiment. I imagine the outcry against it will be so much that it is reverted before the second raid comes out.

This. Though considering their two posts on this thread already, I’m going to chalk them up to being a little petty by nature. We’ll see how this season turns out, my guess is not great. I’m not sure why Blizzard didn’t give people the choice for personal loot to mitigate the disaster this might be.
    Mighty one, never forget.

You are not right though blizz make dumb decisions all the time, with group loot you may not get an upgrade for weeks but with personal loot you can get upgrades each raid most of the time and loot can still be traded and pugs will make thier own rules and you wont get loot at all. Personal loot has always been a good decision to remove the fighting for loot and players getting upset a player gets something.

The right people are mad, so this is probably a good change.

Personal loot is not removed entirely. It is only going away for raid and will continue to be a M+ system. LFR and PUGging will be a pain with this change, but it will potentially be good for pre-made groups (or just reintroduce a ton of loot drama).

Not surprised blizzard cba with a lot of the content when people constantly expect them to hold their hands and blame blizzard because for some reason they havent left a guild where the loot council gives all the loot to his girlfriend and everyone is in cahoots with someone to steal the loot from the poor raider who cant defend himself.

But the raid leader and their girlfriends will be rubbing their hands in Glee. Just another reason to skip DF.

I'm glad that gear is going to be able to be distributed intelligently again. I'm skeptical if this was the best way forward. The option for PL should still be there for groups who want it and since this is essentially ML with an extra step, that should be brought back again.

Essentially, just bring back Legion's loot paradigm and forget the unnecessary complications.

LFR back in Cata was Group Loot... it was a disaster. I think the disaster of Group Loot in the LFR is the reason PL was developed in the first place, lol.

edit: Blue post confirms they want to do Group Loot in the LFR. kekW

with the prevalence of gdkp and ninjas on classic servers, i can see this going really bad

The way group loot is implemented right now on beta is an open door to abuse and frustration.

They need to add more button options to players and restrict to what the specs you are opted has in its loot table.
As a shaman I could roll need on two hand agility weapon. That shouldn't pass.

We need the following buttons, in order of priority :
    - Specialisation (only available if loot matches for your spec)
    THEN
    - Class (only available if loot matches for one of your class spec except for your loot opted in spec)
    THEN
    - Transmog (only available if it's an unobtained appearance or cosmetic, mascott, etc )
    THEN
    - Desenchant (only available if one player in the raid is enchanter)
    - Greed (always available)

hopefully this crashes and burns as they get flooded with tickets and forum post and they bring it back.. Personal Loot was the best thing to happen to this game for loot, they could have tweaked it to be trading better i guess but overall it was so much better and peaceful
