Dragonflight 10.X Patches & 11.0 Speculation Thread

The talk of Alexstrasza and Ysera's biological brother, as well as the forgotten undead scourge are fruitful wells of lore.

What speculations did they do? Also WoW doesn't really have "non canon" material in the way SW does...

The only real "non canon" stuff comes from the RPG and the Comics. And even then, some RPG stuff is used in the canon itself still.

Weren't the names "Gorshalach" and "Taeshalach" originally from the RPG? They're in the canon still, but namely as separate blades now.

Dawn of the Aspects is still an old book that most players have not read though. And I still doubt that the implications of Tyr looking for Proto-dragons capable of being infused with Order magic was a feature in that book as well.

can somebody please explain why we lost the world's strongest druid who was second only to the green aspect in terms of connection to the dream in exchange for ysera only for her to be like "yeah actually i dont have that power anymore but my daughter does"

we are definitely going to face galakrond and probably chromatus again

we will have new aspects

kalec (i know technically not new but hes not an original)
wrathion (no doubt his brother will turn traitor)
and the only one that isnt being replaced is alex
so we go and fight galakrond either via time travel or by him being raised and the new aspects "prove themselves"
the twilight hammer is still a thing as well and it is possible that with the dragonflights getting their powers back we will get chromatus breaking out of stasis

Does anyone else feel like the idea of the World Tree 2 being placed in the Dragon Isles kind of permanently shut off the idea of a Kalimdor revamp? It makes no sense for a racial capital to be locked into an old expansion like that when the Night Elves have no connection to the isles save for the Green.

Why would they ever be in Kalimdor after that?

ICC being an engine (predates BfA), the Old God locations, Titans being dead (predates WotLK), Azeroth being a Titan (predates Chronicle and Legion), troll and night elf shared ancestry, etc.

Loudest criticisms have been against elf lore.

I just want the main cities to be updated with modern graphics.
Imagine all of Stormwind with the graphical fidelity of Boralus, or an updated Orgrimmar with entire new sections such as an Iron Horde inspired railway that lead to the other side of Kalimdor.

I would say other way around, if they do something as grand as remaking whole new city, I would like it to be current expansion focus, not old one. What would be the point, you would visit city, say "neat" and never go back there again.

We don't know tbh. The thing is, only Sintharia could survive sex with Old God-corrupted Deathwing, any other broodmother would perish. We only really know his mother was Nyxondra who IS a sister of Onyxia, Nefarian and Sabellian. Meanwhile Sabellian is Neltharion's eldest son and was his heir apparent.

A lot of people confused the relation since Wrathion calls Deathing his father in game for whatever reason.

Sabellian being his father I guess is possible. I am assuming there is some level of incest among dragons and they might have completely different concepts of familial bonds than mortals do.

Personally, I think we will get something much more cliche like Wrathion and Sabellian bonding and the latter handling over leadership to Wrathion because he proved himself or something.

It's possible, but I personally expect them to go the other way: Wrathion realizing he should yield the aspect position to Sabellian, that he is not ready to take the mantle of leadership, and that he can do more good as a free agent.

Which is probably what Blizzard prefers, because it allows them to slot the character in many more ways than they could with someone shouldering aspect responsibility. ESPECIALLY if they bring back Anduin and want to revive that whole dynamic.

Happy New Year’s Eve! I’m really excited to see this channel alive again after a period of silence/very limited conversation.

Now, we have a roadmap and many in-game hints as to where we are going next. I was thinking that maybe we could have a discussion/speculate on what we think 10.1 will be? This conversation can also involve 10.0.7 prelude stuff or post 10.1, too. What do we think?
