Final boss fight of DF is with Murozond. Murozond almost wins but Chromie discovers that she can beat him by jumbling the letters in his name again. *poof* suddenly there is this tall man standing there with horn-rimmed glasses, a pocket protector and protractor taking engineering classes over the internet with his class displayed on multiple screens on his computer.

    Meet Zoom Nurd!
TO FIX WOW:1. smaller server sizes & server-only LFG awarding satchels, so elite players help others. 2. "helper builds" with loom powers - talent trees so elite players cast buffs on low level players XP gain, HP/mana, regen, damage, etc. 3. "helper ilvl" scoring how much you help others. 4. observer games like in SC to watch/chat (like twitch but with MORE DETAILS & inside the wow UI) 5. guild leagues to compete with rival guilds for progression (with observer mode).6. jackpot world mobs.

Maybe Chromie succeeds and finds a way to stop Murozond from happening (or to make Murozond good). For some reason Nozdormu asked her to kill him if he turns after all and I don't think they will give Chromie the sad moment of failing to save her dad (is he her dad? granddad?) and then have to kill him.

Btw just cause I like to whine when you see the memory of the past with the Aspects and Tyr in the Silver Purpose quest, Alex, Ysera and Noz are in their awesome custom models and Malygos and Neltharion are just a high elf and human in vanilla gear. They did not even bother to give them some better looking armor sets so they look at least comparable . . .

Could see it as a part of another patch that gives us the westernmost part of the Dragon Isles. So basically an 8.2 that introduces two (new) zones. Or was there something datamined already for the small island chain west of Ohn'ahra?

Huge cavernous systems with dragon riding sounds so amazing, I really hope it’s that. I have no reason to believe it is other than what I’ve read here, but I hope they’re right.

So DF ends with the red star/Y'shaarj crashlanding into Azeroth, heralding in a new black empire.
Though we stop his initial onslaught and weaken him his impact crater's walls and his own inscrutable motives rapidly create a new landmass. As he breaches Azeroth but fails in ihis initial onslaught Azerite spills freely and catalyses massive new growth. The new landmass is of course also riddled with the jumbled ruins of whatever he landed on, be they deep sea naga stuff or upside down titan stuff.
One of the crater's walls is collapsed and reveals that part of Undermine has been destroyed but is now available as an amazingly vertical hybrid underground zone, with sections of it collapsed outwards into the crater and rapidly being reintegrated by goblin ingenuity... and a little help of the horde and alliance.

To the north the land itself bulges and breaks as Yogg-Saron reawakebs after co-opting the jailer's azerite feed to resurrect himself, revealing a massive war between the various factions of northrend; the scourge remnants versus yogg-saron's forces versus a resistance coerced and commanded by the resurgent nerubian empire, as well as various lesser factions that are constantly in turmoil trying to survive in shifting alliances.

In the south it remains eerily silent as the sands spread out into feralas and un'goro as an endless sandstorm engulfs southern kalimdor, with only Sargeras' sword still visible from afar.
Below ground strange sounds are frequently heard, and the emerald nightmare renews itself with new insectoid horrors.

Undr the sea the naga stir, an unlikely force for good, but actively at war with N'zoth's remnants wherever they can be found. They serk cooperation as they warn all that the old god will almost certainly return.

And a dark wandering figure in the body of an elf gleefully observes it all from afar.
This is a signature of an ailing giant, boundless in pride, wit and strength.
Yet also as humble as health and humor permit.

Furthermore, I consider that Carthage Slam must be destroyed.

Has any zone before DF used flight as well as Deepholme anyway?

Vashj'ir is still to my mind hte onl zone that used "flight" well. Deepholme has the same issues that all zones stricly built around flying have, that being they end up as disconnected platforms.

Also, I feel like saying Deepholme is an underground zone is a bit misleading. The visual aesthetic is clearly that you are underground, but in practice it's just a stony zone with a fancy skybox. We still have not gotten a proper underground zone with tight claustrophobic spaces.

So has anyone seen the Garden of secrets questline? There is a video of it floating around (and some more cutscenes)

Ysera returns in exchange for Malfurion - because back in valshara it was "malfurions time" and not yseras. Malfurion calls it restoring of balance.
The seed with the Kaldorei is hidden in the emerald dream but has to return at some point to the real word.
Merithra inherits the title "the dreamer" from ysera and will become the new green aspect

So what was the point? Seems like we have had a bunch of faffing around with the Green Dragonflight and Ysera only to end up pretty much exactly where we were, except Malfurion is in Ardenweald.

I mean if Merithra indeed becomes the new aspect, Ysera's return is completely meaningless?

Why do I get the feeling that bit may be a last minute change after some people "complained" that Ysera would be the aspect again instead of her boring daughter?

Anyways, Ysera's new model is 10/10!

It means we're up to 2 OG aspects left instead of 1 when Nozdormu inevitably becomes the end boss. Also it sends Malf to a care home and gets all of the night elf bitching out of the way at the start of the expansion, God willing.

    Cool theory and all.
But we already know what the red star is and it’s not an old god.

Anyway, got Expedition to 13 and starting the next quest. There is a sealed Vault right next to Tyrhold. Sarkareth attacks you in Valdrakken while you try to figure out how to open it. You collect some crap and have to wait until the next step until they try to open it. Not putting this in spoilers because there isn't any information anyway.

I HATE it when a villain I am easily destroying in combat can just stun me for however long they need to monologue and get away with what they are after (without ofc killing me). And then Ion tells me they are hurt when we call them lazy; well this is narratively lazy. Find a way to make Sarkareth scale to individual players so he can completely overpower me without a stun (that I should be able to bubble/human racial out of), get me to 1 health and then rob me.

    On Ysera vs Merithra

Ysera has been around since launch in one form or another. In that time we have seen zero character development from her. Her best moments happened in Stormrage (which together with Wolfheart should have been part of Cataclysm). She is just there, the interactions we have with her are never meaningful up to Legion when she cannot dodge a slow moving crystal and dies like the flop lizards she and her siblings are. We then observe her nightmares in death and she gets to be powerful in Ardenweald (but remains a prop; as we'd say in D&D she is a character sheet, not a character).

We meet Merithra standing next to C'thun yet refusing to go mad like a boss (and they killed Calen like that because they wanted to kill Krasus in a novel instead ffs). We see her in BfA struggling with having to take over her mother's job (which she probably never expected to have to, her mother being immortal and all); she is kind but lacks confidence yet never gives up. We see her discuss with Alex about the role of Dragonkind in the setting and actually be intelligent about it (they have power, should they not actually USE it?). Then we have her in Ohn'aran Plains, confident and working towards her flight's oath.

So yeah, I pick Merithra over Ysera. And I'd have picked Calen over his mother as well.

Sadly with The Maw being such a failure I think a zone nobody can fly in will be a disaster, and a cave with flying in mind will always end up looking like Deepholme.

I think an underground zone would work if ground navigation was really fun inside of it, like if the zone was stacked atop itself and there were tons of ways to go from one side to the other, like rolling around in minecarts and jumping down shafts that basically sends you back to the quest hub.

They could try to make a claustrophobic zone but I'm afraid people would hate it. They have all the rock climbing mechanics ready with Dragonscale Expedition if they wanted to use that.

Well that cinematic explains nothing (as in, why do they need Ysera back). Merithra seems to have the juice to do what is needed
Also I'd rather they had Tyrande stay. The story can take a break from Tyrande. Let's give Malfurion an actual chance to shine for once.

Ysera is going to take a Sabellian/Senegos role: very powerful dragon who ISN'T an Aspect. I'm cool with it as the dragons desperately need a bigger cast than the aspects + Ebyssian + Chromie.

Also confused on how they will get the seed back if it's planted and growing. Will the tree pop out of the dream somewhere?

Who knows, it looked cool in the moment so they did it.
