Found this patent made by blizzard last year out of boredom:

    https://uspto.report/patent/app/20220207843
In an embodiment a machine learning system is configured to compute a shape and size of three-dimensional digital objects to fit a second character model based on the shape and size that the same three-dimensional digital objects have to fit a first character model. A server computer receives particular input data defining a plurality of particular input vertices for a particular input three-dimensional digital object fit for the first character model. In response to receiving the particular input data, the server computer computes, using the machine learning system, particular output data defining a plurality of particular output vertices for a particular output three-dimensional digital object, the particular output three-dimensional digital object comprising the particular input three-dimensional digital object fit for the second character model.
Wonder if this is part of that armor system overhaul Ion mentioned that would need to be done for Dracthyr to transmog their armor. (Or any other exotic races in the future)

Having an AI do most of the leg work and then just reviewing the work would make sense.

I mean if I’m SL there were prophecies of Galakrond or Deathwing returning from “the true throne of power” or whatever… or a bunch of Galakrond/Deathwing related hints then I’d see people thinking they’d be a main threat.

It should give a wake up call to speculators; Blizzard is going in a new direction, not recycling relics from the past.
Yet you’re advocating for Yrel, X’era and Gallywix as end of expansion bosses.

Do you want to fight newly introduced characters or “old” ones?

    Speaking of Scaleface…
Nobody’s been looking at his Twitter profile recently.

    https://twitter.com/wowexdev
His Twitter PFP looks like it could be promo art, and in earlier posts it looks like some zone screenshots.

Pair that hunch with Blizzard themselves saying that they actively avoid expansion concepts where the themes cause the visuals to be too "samey" and you have a scenario where Azshara and the Naga coming back (again) to be rather unlikely.

That's not even including the issue of us beating her and her puppet master a mere 3.5 years ago.
The only thing we did to Azshara was mess up her plan to kill N'zoth. Seems somebody wasn't paying attention to the story and is now trying to make predictions based on that ignorance.

I don't think that's the same person as Scaleface.

If the next expac is all random void stuff an no revamp at all its gonna be a shitshow, atleast with undermine naga south seas and or old god insectoid stuff its recognisable to the IP

Also the revamp idea has gotten more steam then ever with lots of wow media people speculating on it, also theres basically no recognisable landmasses to go to anymore

Hoping that twitter account is posting fake stuff which it probably is, i do remember though thinking dracthyr were fake cause of how ugly they were lol

That's a pretty cool design, unsure if it's fake.

All the zone pictures look like Nathreza/K'aresh which would be a definite WoW killer. I feel like I've seen them before though.

Well yes because they're former allies and have never been raid-level antagonists before. It's something new. We've already beaten Azshara on her home turf, then we went on to body her master. It's crazy that people want to do it again because of some story quirk.

Because Shadowlands showed that people are tired of shadow/void/undead stuff.

Shadowlands has nothing to do with the void.
And no one seemed to complain about Abberus’ void stuff.

So the argument is that THIS time she'll be playing for keeps? While we're still fighting the same minions, and dealing with the same spells, using the same assets from BFA.

For most players Shadow magic is just shadow magic.

Because it was inside a decidedly dragon expansion. People don't mind anything in small doses.

Because nobody except lore nerds like us gives a shit about Karesh, especially since the revamp hype is higher than ever rn (wether thats the fault of Blizz or the players themselves is a different question).
It wouldnt be a "killer" but it would definitely be a disappointment to a lot of people.
Also, it would once again go pretty far into the whole cosmic stuff, and the last time that happened, we got SL, which almost everyone agreedupon that it didnt really feel like warcraft anymore. You think people will be up and hyped after that?
The crooked shitposter with no eyes is watching from the endless thread.

The issue with SL was the shit story. World wise, I think the issue was how all the zones were their own little realms. Made traveling a bitch and felt too disconnected.

If that was the case then MoP would have been DoA.

People will care if they do karesh justice, and the art team usually does.

I personally disagree with the sentiment, I don’t think setting alone would make/break the game.
Shadowlands would’ve done great in the same setting if it had a halfway decent story and didn’t have the myriad of gameplay issues.

Though the post that followed those images did say they “looked like island expeditions” so maybe they’re not fully fledged zones.
Could be something akin to the legion invasion points/time rifts?

The problem is that SL came after N'Zoth patch, so for players it was just an extension of more shadow stuff. Some people are obsessed with shadow-based content, but not every player wants a steady diet of shadow over and over again. Doing an entire shadow/void expansion after 8.3, Shadowlands, and the bit of void we got in Aberrus would be a mistake. It's almost becoming a crutch for Blizzard and it's time to bring some new aligned villains into the equation.

MoP wasn't DoA because it was something fresh after TBC, WotLK, and Cataclysm. At the time nerds bristled at it, but now in retrospect its considered one of the best expansions Blizzard has ever done.

Why? Because it was something different.

In all honestly, I don't care on the conceptual state of the expansion moreso than the business decisions coming down the pipeline.

I can accept any concept if there is no bad business decision announcements during Blizzcon but its going to be a lot harder if the business decisions surrounding WoW Retail after Opening Ceremony are abysmal and the concept is not resonant with the audience.

I no longer reply to quotations beyond if you're asking a genuine question or have a non-confrontational stance.

    Nihil.

    Nice try;

That pic from 8.3 resembles the bottom image, and if you ask a casual player what recent expansion that comes from, they'll more than likely say Shadowlands.
