Not exactly "datamined a playable alpha for BlizzCon", but "datamined a BlizzCon demo" that is currently, albeit maybe a placeholder, set to the Emerald Dream. Nothing there confirms an expansion demo.

I just can't imagine "the elementals" carrying a whole xpac thematically especially aftere DF and all those elements people

I can totally imagine the opening like some big explosion, someone stepping out of some vessel... camera bottom to top, evil and pissed yrel landing in lordaeron cleansing forsaken
Then in the xpac she connects to scarlet crusade and burns down all undead areas
green jesus, with connection to both A and H, steps in and we help him win against evil light
Turalyon might be always on the edge and the story could portrait this inner fight
Then they can also get the void back with Alleria etc
And eventually revamp EK

Could have, but that's missing an advertisement opportunity for the new patch. People who aren't playing WoW and maybe not following news will still get hit with Blizzcon stuff, because Blizzcon is a major event that pops up across the gaming space.

Seeing a patch logo that's all "Hey, look, Emerald Dream" might make people look in and decide "Yo, holy shit I got to play this"

Looks like the dragonrider armor set to me.

We'll see what they show - to me so far the sound of "elemental expansion" sounds pretty much like DF 2.0 minus the dragons, but honestly we can also deal with pretty much the same enemies we deal now.

Unless i will see the presentation, it just sounds too samey to me, because there's a lot of that theme around the DF since the beginning.

On a serious note, it's an ice elemental bound in shackles, being used as a mount. Fits pretty well with the Shaman theme of binding the elements.

Shaman don't bind the elements, they beseech them for power.

Someone posted the image of the ice elemental base model the hand armor is identical, and the rest of the armor is just an extension of how the hands look. Which is kinda odd because it doesnt feel very blizzcon-y

I just noticed that elemental armor is EXACTLY the same as the blizzcon online bear for 2021 ( which I missed out on ). Each is based on a DF model with similar armor is kinda interesting right? Maybes me think this mount was just an un-used mount.

The rest of the armor is new. But yeah it would be an interesting twist if it's just something from new content, explaining when it doesn't have the blizzard logo on it.

The silver fanciful metal with the blue gems is the standard in-house membership reward style for their longlasting employees. Check out their sword/shields, and the helmets that they are gifted for 5 years, 10 years, 20 years etc . It's "Blizzard" styled, likely nothing more than that.

Eh DF elemental themes have been mostly storm and fire
One we kill in 10.2 the other was finished after 10.5

We got Naga and water and the abyssal maw
We got the skywall
We got therazane and possibly updated zone there dealing with iridikron and his "hunger" and of course old god leftovers
