At this point i honestly think it will happen even tho i don't like it and i think it would be boring too if they don't actually do it completely different in feeling and looking(but how they can make elemental expansion where you don't fight a lot of elemental based enemies or have elements infused areas), but people saying that "we have dragons, its not elemental expansion!!" are looking kinda dumb when someone actually points out how much of a elemental theme there is in this expansion and how often you see it, how often characters, creatures are pretty much a showcase of different elements.

I think thats were we need to take the initiative and vote with our wallets, it would most certainly show Blizz what the consumer wants and what will cost them money and we all know they don't like to be hit in the money wallet.

I honestly thought people would be abit more reasonable when it was explained to them that DF is most definitely a Elemental heavy themed expansion but they seem to be acting very disingenuous and disrespectful to other posters as it goes against their agenda.

1) I think people look way too much into previous experience with expansion themes without taking into account the context of reality.
After SL blunder and Dragonflight being good but very furry and cuteness overloaded, id really doubt Blizzard would allow themselves to do missteps. Metzen being brought back solidifies this to me.
They need a banger of an expansion, and you wont get a banger with elemental theme second expansion in a row.
Its going to be something massive and epic. Id even say, cosmic.
Its going to be Light vs Void. It just has to be it.

2) Another thing is how long can checkhov guns be hanged on the wall untouched? Light and Void has started active build up with the Legion, 7 years ago. Since then it was echoed in BFA, SL and Dragonflight.
There is that steam in the can, that needs to be released or it will breath out.
I think another expansion with just a build up would be a mistake.
How many years Xaltat, Scarlet Crusade, Yrel, K'aresh have to wait to finally be presented in full their glory?
I think the time has come and now is the best time to finally do this theme justice.

Well, there are people that will love the theme and those that will not - I have no problem with unsubbing when i don't enjoy my time like i already did and just came back few days ago to do 10.1.7 stuff but i already completed the content after few hours lol and dreamsurges are kinda boring.

I will still wait for a showcase reveal, but so far it sounds pretty boring and like i said - DF 2.0 in a way.


About some rare pepe posters, i just decided that it's pointless and a waste of time to discuss with these special individuals, but luckily you can count them on one hand. :P

There probably will be void with iridikron, no matter that next expansion theme will be.

Unless they will go in a weird way of only having iridkron there with some new antagonist and leave Harbinger and stuff to 12.0, everything is possible at this point.

Luckily so far 10.2 is really good, I love the emerald dream stuff, I've personally been subbed all through DF but my sub runs out in Nov, by then we should know what the next theme is and whether its worth staying subbed too, although I have enjoyed dabbling in some Classic.

Probably only logical out of the game reason is that they keep them for next expansion with Aggra(orc heritage questline) as the new farseer, the reasons probably will be only mentioned briefly.

...I'm gonna change the subject along to get us out of the whole "Elemental Expansion" debacle, all it's doing is just circling us back and forth.

Seeing as how Odyn is going to be a slight focus with the dragons, I should point out this small tidbit I found in Wowpedia about Odyn.

So, according to the Exploring Azeroth: Northrend:

He (Odyn) is stated to follow the Light by the Bronzebeard brothers, with his Val'kyr shieldmaidens being referred to as warriors of the Light.

Would this have any bearing in the whole Light Vs Void stuff?

Yeah you have a point. Its actually not a big deal at all - just went back to remember what happened during the 10th anniversary of WoW at Blizzcon 2014 ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ow7DFbwaMfQ ). The full focus was on Overwatch releasing. Chances are we probably won't see any announcements made based solely on it being the 20th.

Hell they might just show the survival game haha.

I think 10.2 might happen after blizzcon on november 10th, if it was already available then why would they have a demo for 10.2, even as separate thing from 11.0 demo if that happens.

People will come back from blizzcon and have time to play, but who knows.

-blizzard doesn't like to overlap releases, and classic icc is coming on october 12th
-second half of october is too close to the blizzcon. it would overlap with the start of the season/rwf
-the timewalking event ends on november 7th. last time, the new patch was released right at the end of it. i imagine this time is going to be the same

A post blizzcon release for 10.2 is basically guaranteed.
