Not really, at least no more than average people that follow speculations. In the past he often knew that some patch reveal or Alpha is coming soon. But this expansion Blizzard is totally predictable, and on top of that they give news schedule on Monday.

I never said that DF wasn't elemental themed, I said that it isn't an elemental expansion. It's a dragon expansion.

The idea that Undermine is the only unexplored "Cave" in WoW is also kind of ignorant. Hyjal Barrows were part of WC3 and pretty massive. Then there is also the Oracle Cave in Stonetalon.

Oh I agree! No way in hell they will release 10.2 2 days before Blizzcon. I'm betting on the 7th as well.

AQ could also be turned into an open-World Zone with a second underground layer quite easily.

I think they want to give classic icc at least a week before focusing on retail again. by that time, we would have only 1-1.5 weeks left before the blizzcon. If they were to release the new patch then, the rwf would directly overlap with the event.

Unless the ending of 10.2 is crucial for they next expansion, november 7th is probably the most comfortable date for the new patch

Or you know, they can literally invent any big cave on any continent they want, including revamp. It always confuse me when people treat this fantasy world as something real with it's limitations.

Absolutely. There could be a massive cave beneath Alterac (we never saw the Titan ruins the entire fight happens for). We know Uldaman extends further below, it could open into a vast cavern system. The land around the sword could collapse, opening tunnels underground. And yes, it could just be that we just get a new continent/island like Avaloren and one of the zones there is underground.

A giant cave under Kalimdor wouldn't be that surprising. Back in Rexxar's quest, Durotar had more caves. There's still a cave at the Southern Barrens who's never been dug up by dwarves with a dark power in it and I'm pretty sure the sword could also unveil a lot of stuff. If there has to be an underground continent in an existing continent, it's either Azjol Nerub or Kalimdor's underground.

But I think there won't be a whole underground expansion. It might just be one zone. One I wish we could have is Blackrock Depths but extended, with all the Shadowforge doors opened.

Issue with a full underground expansion is how it will make people claustrophobic no matter what. Unless they figure out a way to prevent that I dont think we will have a full xpack completely underground.

Edit: Maybe they could do a skybox of a vast cave so much so there is somehow a sky? Maybe some titan tech that gives it a sky would be the only way I could think it would work.

I looked up the ones since 2012.

• 2012 - BlizzCon was cancelled this year
• 2013 - Murloc Crusader from Diablo
• 2014 - Murloc Grom - Same year WoD was released
• 2015 - Murloc Illidan - Same year Legion was announced, but that happened at Gamescom already
• 2016 - Murloc Horde / Alliance soldiers - Not super relevant to Legion
• 2017 - Horde / Alliance airships - Same year as BfA was announced
• 2018 - Horde / Alliance cloaks - BfA was released
• 2019 - Murloc Anduin and Sylvanas - Same year Shadowlands was announced, but they were already relevant from BfA I suppose.
• 2020 - Cancelled
• 2021 - BlizzConline had the Moon-touched Netherwhelp and Blizzard bear
• 2022 - Cancelled

The ones that feel a bit "teasy" are really 2017 and maybe 2019 and 2021.

Not super relevant, but the 2020 reward was the Gargantuan Grrloc and the 2021 rewards were initially the Gargantuan Grrloc and murloc backpack before getting changed to what they ended up being.

A lot of games recently have been doing underground content. I just got done playing the new Zelda game and like half the game takes place underground. ESO had half of a chapter underground as well that I recently played thru.

My only issue with an underground zone currently is I feel we've been underground for the past 2 raid tiers. We were in a mountain for VotI and now Zaralek; going underground again will get the complaints of "too much green" that I kept hearing complained about during Legion.
