Yeah, in current times and prices, having some couch watch party or sitting on discord with other people watching and commenting sounds a lot more pleasing than, especially when you're from europe.. paying a shitton of money for something that might or not dissappoint you, because currently it's unknown what direction they will take.

Don't take it as granted. They could still bring another fat race who comes from the earth itself. But I agree that's 300% sus

Obviously inflation will impact the sales, but its been a whole weekend.
Right when most everyone has the time to plan out their trip.

While unsurprising, its still shocking when compared to how tickets used to sell out within the day.

People don't have that kind of money anymore to go to some convention. Even when you can watch everything for free. The last Blizzcon was 2019, which was almost 4 years ago. Things got a lot worse.
I will not reply to posts that are non-constructive or contain flaming and/or trolling.

Yeah my bad I totally was off base. In fact the emote talk reminds me a bit of the female human emote talk. (but just the emote talk, the rest isn't)

Might be a hot take but I get the feeling that allied races are internally viewed as a BfA feature and aren't returning. But I also believe the Broken tease is like the 80th one we've gotten this expansion and only a few of those are going to be followed up in 11.0, with the rest being an IOU for 2-4 years down the line or just forgotten about.

They could, at least partially, chalk that up to them not having a celebrity guest or band this year. "Apprehensive" is the overwhelming mood of the Blizzard fandom at this moment.

I think they are going to rehaul the race system a bit. I don't think the AR racials are going anywhere, but they may do a subrace menu or something similar. And Broken/Ogres/Jinyu/whatever will all be called New Races unless they get a questline you have to do to unlock them.

Allied Race just means a player race you have to unlock at this point.

Assuming Tyr's story turns out in a way where he ends up our ally, it would indeed be the perfect time to have some clan of Vrykul sympathetic to Tyr's cause (and the Vrykul he saved) join us shortly after.

Allied races have this inherent scope creep attached to them that you saw play out with the SL customization. Some people switched to allied races for the improved customization over their base race counterpart, then the base race got better customization in SL and they complained about that, so Blizzard backported some of the new customizations to them. They're always going to feel second class and it won't feel good seeing the base races get more and more stuff.

It'd be nice if they could roll things into subraces and maybe allow you to pick your racials, but that still doesn't really work for allied races that don't have an appropriate base counterpart like vulpera.

Oh I am pretty sure that D4, HS and even OW2 make a lot of money, but I do not think that their communities are especially happy.

Players are losing interest in Blizzard games, that is all. Which is a very bad thing for Blizzard, they have to improve a lot yet. D4, especially, in some aspects, is an absolute joke.
Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive.

By the way, I used DALL-E's new image creator AI to see if I could get something similar to the Stormbreak artwork. Here's what I put in-

"world of warcraft artwork showing a dwarf with hammer riding a gryphon in a lightning storm"

Here are the images I got.

AI is definitely getting better, but I'm unsure if you could really nail the Warcraft style and posing of that supposed artwork solely through AI.

Also for many since last blizzcon and shadowlands, WoW is not their only mmo anymore so they will watch it but don't want to spend a dime.
    (my speculation of course).
Pretty much this, me and the hubby are going to stay home and watch it on the bigscreen with popcorn and iced tea.

With respect, I think anyone who expected Diablo 4 not to have growing pains is out of their mind.

It's a seasonal game. It's a seasonal game that is using different systems than it's previous game, which itself was different from the iteration before it.

    D3 was a fantastic game....once it hit it's stride.

No game like this ever has or ever will hit the ground running and keep the pace.

I mean the digital ticket has been far far cheaper than actually going and it has been around for ages. They still sold out every time and fast before.

I mean, that's a perfect example of what I mean when I said the feathers on the Stormbreaker image were fairly delicate. Some of the feathers on that AI image are sticking out like a pokemon. Sharp spikes and weird angles coming off the wings itself

Blizzcon still hasn't been sold out.

Man, they really gotta announce something big to get some goodwill back.
I been tracking this for a while now - Going to be in Blizzcon this year(first one also) I am expecting either an awesome non-crowded con experience or a complete lack luster experience. No in-between. We will have to see how long they stretch this out. Hopefully the lack of tickets sold causes them to drop the in-person events/schedule sooner to drive hype/ticket sales. Maybe show up what the physical goodie bags are which might include some hints.

Edit: I will also be going to universal studios afterwards so a real Nintendo vs Blizz trip is about to happen.

I'm hoping the takeaway is that the Blizzard fanbase is less interested in paying for big reveals and more interested in open communication about what's next for the game.

We'll soon have the virtual ticket up I suppose, for example, in 2019 it was up on October 1st (November 1& 2)

Yeah, but free and cheaper always make a difference also like many people mentioned, times changed since last blizzcon.
@Ersula used the correct word i was looking for "Apprehensive" when it comes to the mood of the community about upcoming stuff.
