they launched classic tbc that summer. also, this part: "With deep engagement across both Classic and Modern, WoW's overall subscriber base is stronger than we typically see at this point after a Modern expansion launch." means that classic+retail had overall more players than any modern expansion did at that point in time. classic was basically covering retail's ass in that period

The number does include both TBC and SL though that quarter doesn’t cover the launch of TBC or the first few weeks so any one who dipped there toes in And left quickly wouldn’t be counted, beyond that we have no way to know what the break down of the two were.

But either way nothing at all supports any kind of exodus from wow in general with at best SL players going to TBC or vice versa.

Idk dude, i remember everyone and their mother quitting wow for games like ffxiv in 2021. that game was spammed on every wow related platform to the point of being obnoxius. you forgot how badly was wow treated back then

• Bad Press towards Blizzard Game Directors
• Bad Press towards the CEO of Activision
• Pipeline difficulties due to Covid
• Content Drought
• An massive aggressive Promotional Campaign by FFXIV

So of all these problems in 2020/2021 with Blizzard and their products/services, the "story" being bad is the least actionable to tackle. "We need to redo the entire history of wow" is the only reaction that Blizzard could take, that would, from a business perspective, be completely insane.

I'm glad Rumble has a release date (finally), but I'm not sure about the event itself. Those mini figurines are seemingly just static doodads? What's the point? Major OW2 weapon charm vibes.

Relog, decryption might not have gone correctly or something. It should give you a targeting reticle to place the mini.

Not really. From Hearthstones to weather changing machines, toys can actually be awesome.

I'd love these little figurines if they were animated or something, but they seemingly just sit there awkwardly. Not sure who thought this was a good idea.

To be honest, the Rumble news update video they just dropped on YouTube has me a little bit worried about BlizzCon. Seems like they're doubling down on this video format, with devs sitting around a table chatting unnaturally with each other about the game they made together.

I want old panels back. 3 guys sitting on chairs, while one of them goes over powerpoint slides and talks about whats new.
