This year Blizzcon is free to watch.
They want everyone to see it. They'll also likely pay big streamers to stream the event and get their viewers.
Maybe they won't even have to pay them.

It won't be an new obscure continent only known to a bunch of lore nerds, like Avaloren or Khaz Algar. Not yet.
However, a world revamp is what you want to show to long time fan, as well as ancient players and newcomers.
    #TeamWorldRevamp

Either that, or a brand new Warcraft game (more RPG than RTS), or a new IP (survival game), which would greatly compensate the absence of revamp to me.

Hmmm while i'm thinking, Thrall as the key art for Warcraft might not mean that he'll play a big role in the next exp... but rather be at the center of a new Warcraft game? :O
Him being the most known character from Warcraft besides Arthas, it would make sense that he is used in this perspective.
Or even for his own show maybe. Thrall's life is very ... "tv showable" : Slave. Gladiator. Shaman. Warchief.
But they won't make the mistake to give it to Netflix; they'll use and expand their own Blizzard Studio thanks to that sweet Diablo Immortal Ca$$$$$h.

The Netflix leak is interesting to me ( even tho its more then likely fake) because blizz really has the chance to put wow back on the spot in the next few years with moves such as
    - easily consumable netflix show that introduces people to the wow lore
    - mobile game to get more people into the warcraft gaming universe
    - graphical old world revamp to bring most of wow into the new modern day
-wow releasing on console, a huge part of the gaming market is still console only
-wow sub in game pass, even if its just 1-3 months would be great way to introduce people

All this with a hard focus on the 20th year anniversary could really give wow the appeal it really needs to become a household name like it was from 2005-2016

Blizzcon opening night is always free to watch. The panels aren't.

Also Thrall is not more widely known than Illidan, Jaina or Sylvanas.

Yeah, but he hasn't been a focal point since Cata.

I mean, when they announced Dragonflight they referred to it as "pledging allegiance to each of the dragonflights" and the renown system is just the covenant renown system. The only way the flights are not covenants is that you advance all of them at the same time.

You mean aside from the tiny snag that you don't actually advance with any of them, since they just have one singular renown track for Valdrakken?

I think its interesting in a lot of the Metzen official news, they used "Warcraft" and not World of Warcraft a lot more. Not sure getting people into WoW is the end game like it used to be, I think they just want to flesh out the IP with more content and genres.

Again if you line the clues up you have underground and you have storm. That’s earth and wind. We’re simply missing Fire and Water clues at this point, and whatever Fryakk is doing with the fire lands may take care of that aspect.

Then we have Thrall on the key art; a shaman representing the elements, so IMO we’re still moving in that general direction until more clues come along.
I mean... With respect to Toweliee. There is literally zero reason to believe that he has any inside information. Or that if he does, it's even close to accurate. I was given information for WoD that came straight from an active employee at Blizzard, before it got leaked (because I told someone). It was only similar in shades. Their security has only gotten better, I'm sure.

More, do we think this is real? Because that's Toweliee saying "Well, shit". Or does he not have knowledge of classic so he's just going off a rumor.

Cuz like, World of Warcraft Awakening is a meme. It's been used for every leak cycle since at least WoD.

What I mean to say is, it's very possible that he has inside information of some sort. It's also more than possible he's just trolling. But even if he does have it, That doesn't mean it's accurate. And saying that doesn't even mean he's lying.

Right or wrong, don't get so hung up on what he says is right or not. Blizzard's a big company, and even the people inside the company ain't got all the information.

This leak is pretty cool for a non-revamp one. Doubt they would say the final boss this early though.
I kinda like this. What gives me pause is changing subtlety to ranged. Ion said in an interview that they didn't want to change existing specs to support. I imagine they wouldn't want another Survival Hunter situation either.

But there are blue dragonriding rewards for the Tuskarr rep, Green dragonriding rewards for the Centaur, etc. I think its a high possibility they started designing them as one for each flight then changed it to the associated cultural group.

That everyone's leak images are now at a dutch angle is very funny.

Well again I’ll state that I never said that what Toweliee hinted at is definitively going to happen. I simply said that it’s the strongest leak we have outside of the other clues we’ve gotten, and he isn’t a sock puppet account posting a chatpt leak. That was the assertion made by the person I was responding to.

    It's a time for celebration!

For speculation, just because, let's assume it is an "underground" expansion as a springboard for ideas.

How would we feel about it being a giant Titan facility, with different biomes and such. It's a giant chamber designed by the Titans to stabilize the elements since Azeroth was devouring all the Spirit and dying as a result.

I mean WoW also has to share the spotlight with Warcraft Rumble and (to a lesser extent) Hearthstone. Though if they want to do a single player game (Not specifically an RTS Warcraft 4) more power to them...

But one can only hope it doesn't end up like what happened with Warcraft 3 Reforged.
