In fact, Chris Metzen is not known for his consistency in Lore... I think the Draenei retcons were still the most devastating and massive retcons in any WoW expansion.

The Draenei Lorelol is pretty massive but let's be real and recognize that even if it was a massive retcon with the Draenei/Eredar thing the stories we got out of it as a result are far, far, faaaaaar more compelling than they would otherwise be if Metzen hadn't forgot that they were always Eredar.

New PTR build and a sneak peek at the new 12-month mount. Looks like a slitherdrake of some kind.

Other than that, nothing much. Today was a very uneventful day in terms of leaks.

Also, mildly interesting but not huge, they disabled some more things in this PTR build when the build is running in kiosk (BlizzCon demo) mode so BlizzCon prep is still underway. They also removed the map limitation of the demo to the Emerald Dream, so I'm guessing it was indeed a placeholder after all and they'll be adding a proper mapID in there whenever they prepare the BlizzCon demo proper.

That's good, but I would laugh if the PTR is just Amirdrassil (the city/tree) and the Dream. Hopefully it's just the usual with one new next-expac zone.

I'm still in shock with their blatant inability to take criticism, instead defending things that a lot of people seem to have issue with. The first section alone is baffling. "Nozdormu had a dream about clouds on fire, Alexstrasza thought Fyrakk, figured out Fyrakk would logically attack the world tree", which I'm hardly paraphrasing. That is the explaination for how we knew Fyrakk would go after Amirdrassil, without even knowing how he knows about Amirdrassil. What a sad explaination.

Not gonna lie, that interview is really killing my interest in the next expansion. That felt like a "We don't care, we do whatever we please..." kind of responses.

The western corporate culture is a very different beast comparing '07 to '23. Western devs aren't allowed to show "weakness" by apologizing, and the only time you see that is a big "corporate apology" on fancy font from the official account.
