Funny you're all talking about Azshara. I was doing some Vaults and found this "Unknown Statuary" in one of the rooms, alongside two "Undersea Specimen". Seems like even Neltharion was interested in her.

This is not surprising. Neltharion was already hearing the whispers of the Old God, his corruption was gradual and over the course of a long time. Simultaneously, N'Zoth had been watching Azshara from the shadows for thousands of years.

It's possible that N'Zoth told one of his future minions (Neltharion) to gather more intel on another of his future minions (Azshara). Hence, Neltharion gathering that statue for some purpose.

Remember that N'zoth was conveniently right underneath Zin'azshari right after it got blown up, ready to talk to Azshara. So it's possible that Neltharion knew of Old God activity around Azshara's area.

If he was locked to the sea he couldn’t actually be by Zin'azshari before the sundering he would have had to ride in on the tidal wave as Zin'azshari was build on the well of eternity which was land locked.

On topic now: Seafearer/Pirate/Jungle Island content in 10.2/3 or 11.0?

Between the statues in the vault, the pirate ships, nightsquall, monkey/tel'abim rare etc I feel like the likelihood we are getting a jungle island / pirate continent is pretty high.

Outside of Tel'abim I have no idea how or where this would fit in lorewise though so I'm suspicious it may be a diversion / patch content.

Any thoughts?

On the subject of water, I don't understand why Blizzard hasn't implemented 3D oceans yet, given that they did it in Exile's Reach. The beach waves from Isle of Thunder also never showed up again either.

If we get to visit Exile Reach in the future, I hope it would be either be the Necromancer's class area or Ogre's starting zone.

The titan facility that kept him trapped was fairly close to Nazjatar. Do we know how fast the Well formed? Certainly there was an original burst of Azerite but the Well itself was mostly water (tinged with a lot of Azerite but still water) so it likely formed naturally with perhaps some titanforged assistance to purify it. Is it that unlikely for N'zoth to have been close by or even moved towards the wound and be trapped by the Keepers in a facility within the wound that was forming? The water could have come later. Alternatively his facility could be adjoining or beneath the lake bed and got revealed by the Sundering.

Anyway on the pirate topic. It is entirely possible for the pirates to be present in some islands close by Avaloren on the other side of Azeroth. Heck I'd say finding isles full of pirates to the east of STV makes sense; the Bloodsail fleet came from that direction. Scarlets' leaving from Tyr's Hand to points south could also have arrived to Avaloren.

I think BfA wasted much of the theme of Islands by shoving the entire concept in Island Expeditions, an activity that while decent by the end of the expansion, by design did not lend to exploration by forcing you to rush (plus we should have gotten our own customizable ship!). Thus I'd love for it to be revisited. Give me my Windwaker fantasy. However I think BfA is still quite recent.

Naga only existed after the Sundering... the even after which the Aspect could not access their isle anymore. Was Neltharion there after the sundering? (It is technical a separate isle I guess)

The well of eternity wasn't water it was all azerite or the azerite equivalent of back then and is described as a “lake of scintillating energy”, the old gods were also captured where they were the titans literally build there prisons on top of them.

Though going through chronicles N’zoth was the closest to the well though he was also land Locked which makes it kinda weird he’s the deep sea old god and not C’thun.



Either way though Nazjatar had to have been moved closer to his prison with the sundering or after it given the distance between him and the well.

You know he was always called the God of the Deep. But that doesn't mean the deep sea. Could simply be the god of the underground; maybe most of N'zoth was beneath those mountains. Would explain how he whispered to Deathwing.

Because we have a patch about Deathwings hidden doing coming up and we just had a post about how he was keeping an eye on the future Naga Queen and the deep Sea.

The mod note is about arguing over lore it really shouldn’t apply to talking about the possible connection about The Naga still at large for future content and there possible ties to deathwing the focus on the next patch.

Well ya but he already has the fish thing going for him right when the well exploded, though I suppose that could just be him grabbing any thing near by and he wasn’t all about fish back then.

That’s true I was just applying it to the sea as that was his thing post sundering but him being keeper then the rest underground would match up with how he was the one to turn deathwing.

True, but its kind of sus since Azshara had literally nothing to do with ocean creatures before the sunder, she lived in a place that couldn't be more away from the ocean...

Honestly I love the idea that he was somewhere beneath the giant lake we see in the Azshara cinematic. Or at least one assumes it's a lake. I somehow doubt it was the well of eternity, given we see that The Eternal Palace and N'zoth is within spitting distance of where said cinematic took place.

I would rather Sargeras not be fought by players. A setting feels vast when there are things out there that are just too big to fight.

Ideally, we should do so at the very end of the franchise's – and I do mean the franchise, as opposed to the game's – lifespan. If we fight Sargeras, it should be the end of the story altogether, or immediately preceding it.

We fought Sargeras. Mythic Gul'dan phase. He was possessing Illidan's body
