This may be unpopular but AP was good, it just needed some reasonable cap for it to be harmless for the guys that were not willing to run the AP treadmill.

It was RNG on top of RNG, so you were pretty much screwed if the stars were not aligned and your spec depended on it. At least with Legion you had the class flavor of artifact weapons. Torghast was also alright, but its tie to the legendaries was unfathomably stupid, after player concerns in Beta to untie both systems.

Unless they feel the Diablo expansion announcement is pretty straight-forward and doesn't need one.

It may also just be an announcement along the lines of "We're working on it and it's coming and well have more info to share later this year but take a look at the name and the class name" or something.

I think you already answered your own question. I believe Iridikron and Xal are going subterranean in 11.0 and we go after them. There's no reason to go to a new continent if Iridikron is gunning for the world soul.

To make this more itemized;

+Thrall on key art (Earth-based/elemental Shaman)
+Iridikron (Earth-based dragon)
+Khaz Algar (implied to be underground, run by Earthen)
+Xal'atath (Old Gods are underground)
+Uldaz (possibly an underground titan complex to protect the world soul)

Not to mention the simple fact of us going underground automatically gives us the ability to have an expansion on Azeroth that won't seem like a rehash of the previous expansion, since we'll be underground instead of another lost continent with titans and dragons.

But hey, we'll know for sure in less than a week. I could be completely wrong about all of this.

I agree with the rehash of a new land that was lost to time after panda land and Dragon isles getting stale.

That being said, I feel like it can go either way 50/50 if anything. I just lean more on avaloren because of the Titan lore AND the green dragon flying off west past what Tyr advised to, and guess who's coming back on 11/21?

On the flip side, the same argument of lack of build up can be made for underground too.

Maybe. I could see them saving some hype announcements for E3 and stuff. But didn't they say Diablo IV would have annual expansions, meaning a release in June? I feel like BlizzCon would be the place to dive deep into that.

I think it just depends on what they wanna do with it. I think after we get a look at the first expansion well have a much better idea of what to expect with these things and just how big or not a potential announcement could be. They might also save it for a MSoft announcement now. Like imaging if at the next MSoft/XBox event they announce the D4 expansion and then finish it up with oh and also D4 is now available on gamepass right now.

I just don't think we have enough frame of reference on where D4 is at to judge much of anything with it unfortunately. It is weird that it doesn't have more Blizzcon space but it also might not be depending on how things shake out essentially.
