Personally, I don't mind them not having the live Q&A. I don't need or care that you're Lemmywinks the Paladin from Stormrage and that you're in the GoldenGirls guild for the last 15 years.

Honestly I've always thought it was just straight up weird when people spend that much time in one guild. I fully grasp that is probably a really unpopular opinion and I'm the weirdo but the people that have been in one single guild for that long how do you do that? How the hell do you grow as an individual and be in a group with that many other individuals and not be like nahh we've clearly outgrown each other for that long?

Who said a lore build up was required? Devs saying that they would like us to go to a popular location multiple times at multiple interviews also constitutes a build up. Easter eggs getting dropped about a popular location over the course of multiple expansions also constitutes a build up. It also means that the location is popular enough to get asked repeatedly by the fan base and get in-game easter eggs on a regular basis.

Avaloren ain't that place because it hasn't been around long enough. It's only been mentioned once in some obscure piece of lore.

Yeah it's only been mentioned once, you're right. But the anti titan set up with irridikron, avaloren filled with titan heretics, Tyr failing at keeping a green dragon from flying too far west, and us ressing tyr all points to avaloren, not undermine of all places....

That's like predicting we're going to fight the legion in northrend instead of argus.

All the friends I had in WoW quit years ago so I've probably got plenty characters parked in dead 15 year old guilds

I an active Discord server with most of my guild from MoP and WoD. We interact all the time. But ingame I play with different folks.

I think you mean the World Revamp where the old world is sucked underground by Iridikron so it's both a world revamp AND an underground expansion

sure, but theres a pretty big leap to be taken in order to go from "these screenshots are mid" to "this infinitely small slice of the entire expansion is mid so the entire expansion is mid". Tho tbh this is something id totally expect from that crowd.

If guilds weren't a feature maybe 20% of my wow experience since vanilla would have been different. I've maybe made like one or two friends and guilds are usually cliques.
