Be careful when saying the images are *definitely* fake. I'm not saying they are definitely real, but I think they are more likely real than not. I say this because someone linked the old Dragonflight speculation topic yesterday and I took a little trip down memory lane reading it. I'd forgotten how many "definitely not real" claims there were about the dracthyr - a lot of familiar names, too.

The ENTIRE trailer showed that.

The point is that Legion trailer also showed some random hut in Highmountain, as well as that random Stormheim shot posted above.

If you were to leak Legion and show only those random boring shots, people would think that Legion is a boring filler expansion too.

The showcase of the Broken Isles literally opened with the massive Legion army pouring out of the Tomb of Sargeras. That recontextualized everything.

So basically I am not pessimistic for the next expansion setting. The leaked pics look boring as fuck, but I will wait for the full context.

Again, if you only showed that moose shot from Legion, I would think that Legion is a boring filler expansion too.

I was among the Dracthyr deniers in that thread so I don't mind doubling down and being wrong again. I already made a fool of myself then, so no harm in doing it again.

There were enough ew assets and tilesets that you could say that the zones had some effort out into them.

With these four new images you cannot even do that. All of them seem to reuse old assets, and look like already existing zones.

If you leaked the most boring screenshots possible from the Legion trailer, people would still be excited because they would be fighting the Legion. People would be dissecting those images trying to figure out where in the world they might be.

We don't really have any idea what the plot for Avaloren may be. At the moment the loose thread from Dragonflight is Iridikron and honestly the most likely area for Iridikron to go next given that the plan is to help the Harbinger claim the world soul would be an underground expac.

People would think that 7.0 is a boring filler expansion, no one would think that it's about the Burning Legion's grand return.

It is obvious that Blizzard wants to do more with Azshara and Xal'atath, so I expect a major Void storyline from the next expansion, regardless of how boring or generic the leaked zones look.

I just don't see why I want to defeat Odyn beyond the abuse of Helya who was our antagonist. (I know there's legitimate reasons for why our player characters would do it but again why am I doing Iridikrons' goal???). Re-origination at this point would be preferrable, honestly. So even that is just goofy.

This whole story premise is super cooked, Steve is repeating "Order bad" for another expansion with more Cosmic force equilibrium is just.. Wha?

I mean hey a Odyn vs Tyr fight Cinematic is neat I guess but I don't see how it garners mass appeal.

Story is getting so cooked.

A lot of this is us putting a lot of faith into Vyranoth in hopes of her not betraying us.

Which only makes me question, what reason do we have for helping and siding with Vyranoth and going against Odyn? It's like the story of the game expects you to know what happened in the War of the Scaleborn in order to follow along the train of thought of helping Vyranoth... but what if people didn't read that book? All they would see out of Vyranoth is a draconic Ice Queen who doesn't care for anyone but Alexstraza and her last remaining kin.

Odyn is the one who simply imposes order, and Tyr is the one who cunningly brings it about, so they're not really at odds. Of course, Tyr could be converted later, but based on the story so far, he's consistently been a shady character.

I would like to ask because im uneducated on the matter, but does blizzard never reuse things like trees, landscape, and grass?

none of the Zandalari trees are reused in Waking Shore? None of the trees in Val'sharah are reused?

Also maybe the reused titan assets from the dinosaur jungle pic are simply to establish a consistent, new "Titan" style that can be carried forward? Those assets are fairly new so i wouldnt find that shocking

People are still presuming, assuming that the screenshots are real, that the bottom three are from the trailer like the first one. It's another logical assumption, just like assuming that they're 4 separate zones (and there are 4 total zones) based on a completely separate text "leak."

I don't understand how anyone can get past the most basic developmental milestones and still make that kind of assumption. They might be, certainly, but there's nothing to suggest they are.

I do find it odd that we got two separate leaks that reinforce eachother at different times! though it could be that someone is just running some big leak operation for fun

but seeing those bearded ogre men in the snapchat browser leak AND the desert zone with an in-game model gives it some substance to me

I mean reading the excerpt from the book makes Vyranoth sound hateful and unstable well before Tyr actually gave her a reason to hate him. He absolutely will later on, but she had no way to know and her entire point is that savagery is better than civilization.

The trailers/promo screenshots are always filled with brand new assets and there's barely a shot in them without a ton of new stuff, having four screenshots with almost eveything in them being reused assets is very sus

but see, there's a color palette that we had never seen until that point, and a moose - and entirely new animal that is not just a reskin of something old. While I grant you that it would not be a super hype inducing screenshot, it wouldn't feel cheap like the 4 we got, where not a single thing (except maybe those canyons?) seems new

The Image Leak coexists with the Text Leak and the Website Leak.

If the text leak or the website leak is fake, then so is the image leak, simple as that.

And the website leak is almost definitely fake.
