That's not true as we saw the paladin with an ashbringer before they even showed the "new continent: broken isles" text.
Btw, I'm still sad they never added the little lore snippets for the different artifact skins as with the preview trailer. Would have been a lot better than just pretending they never existed in lore lol.

If you think that anyone even noticed that was the Ashbringer from like the 6-7 frames you can see it, you are incredibly deluded.
I mean, hell, here's the live reaction anyway.

The suspense this 4 screenshots leak has caused is hilarious, the forum is tingling with anticipation of some other credible leak, that doesn't support the previous one lmao.
Doktor turn off my copium inhibitors, we're going to K'aresh!

I just really, really do not want another playable race that was made up on the spot. We still haven't gotten Ogres or Vrykul, so if they make some bizarre playable Mutant-Dwarf playable for this expansion I'm going to lose it. Literally nobody asked for it.

Agreed.
Before Legion was announced, most people knew that the Broken Isles would appear in some way, because two major, iconic, well-known landmarks were there; the Tomb of Sargeras and the Ruins of Suramar.
Although a lot of people also thought that it would be an Azshara-centred expansion, since the ruined Suramar and Tomb in WC3 were overrun with Naga. I remember that many theorized Gul'dan would team up with Azshara somehow.
This is a far cry from Avaloren. Avaloren was literally made up a few months ago and it has no landmarks that actually matter to the playerbase, because it was made up a few months ago and was literally never seen before.
While the Broken Isles were a major setting in WC3 TFT and people wanted to see the famous Tomb of Sargeras and ruins of Suramar. Afaik, the Broken Isles were even on early maps of Classic WoW.
The Broken Isles and Avaloren are completley incomparable.
No, because the Draon isles existed in name for the last 18 years before it got made into an expansion, and received fanfare during that entire period.
It was a widely known piece of cut vanilla content.
Avaloren doesn't have 18 years of content creators and fans speculating about its existence and concept, it has a mention in a book from just 3/4 patches ago that just started to enter the communities collective consciousness.

Dragon Isles have been part of every expansion speculation since the start. It was known cut content, for a long while people believed that initial zone map (the one that ended with some Burning Throne Sargeras zone). It also ties with the generic idea of a dragon expansion.
Avaloren is a blank slate added with the DF prepatch.
