I don't know if I would particularly play an ogre or Mok'nathal, but specifically in the cases of ogres, to introduce a new race that is seemingly a replacement for the race is just more of the same new lore/races that take us further away from the original feel of the world.

The dragon isle was literally nothing but a wc2 map and a single picture of a old god temple on an island, it was not a “long standing location” and wrathion mentioning it in BFA was the only time it became any thing more and even then it was still all of nothing.
So no it didn’t mean any more then the book about The green dragon and was just as likely to be in 8.3 as where ever that dragon went is to be in 10.2.
Evil only wins when it spreads. It can cause destruction, it can cause death—but those are consequences of its nature, not its victory. Not its goal. The danger of evil, the purpose of evil, is that it causes those who would oppose it to become evil also.
Yeah I do realize I'm putting my name on the line as well with what I say so just want to make sure that the flow of information is understood.
And for the people that might not have been present in the previous hype thread for DF, or have forgot, I did mention that at the time I was working in MS (switched jobs at the start of this year).
And I agree, the template expansion is my biggest fear from zone pics

I mean he is kinda right with his point that it has everything we speculate about and that never worked out in our favor. I get that we run out of places to go, so avaloren seems like the only choice, but there are so many open storylines from previous expansions that haven't been touched yet, so its weird that all the leaks always circle around the same three things. (could also be a sign that it may be true, like almost every leak last time was about the dragon isles, but i just don't think its avaloren)
If they are real, then it's kind of funny/grim that two expansions in a row will have had genuine leaks that received a lot of skepticism because many people thought they looked too bad to be real.

People always doubt leaks to varying degrees though, really.
Some people bought the masks that Blizzard hastily added to try and hide the Worgen and Goblin ones for Catalcysm, people refused to believe the title Mists of Pandaria when that leaked, there was that whole thing about "Bolvar's flame is the wrong color" too for Shadowlands.
Time honored tradition.

Thats my plan, I want to see what else the game will feature before I decide if its worth my time or not
Must admit, I've gotten bored and not logged in for a few days, found myself playing through the Yakuza series (Excellent games btw).

I'm talking doubt in a leak specifically stemming from thinking that what's shown looks too low quality to be real. Genuine disbelief that it's something that Blizzard would make. The Dracthyr reaction was a lot more intense, but the Avaloren leak doesn't seem to be thrilling many people.

Yeah that was amusing.
Fair enough.
While not Dracthyr, I was one of the ones trying to figure out how the watcher (Koronos or whatever his name is) was fake, as I recall. I remember spending some time here at work using MS Paint to zoom in and shit, even, heh.
Yeah, but it was known as the possible homeland of WoW's dragons. Further we were familiar with draconic characters like Wrathion, Chromie, Alexstraza, Nozdormu, Ysera, and Kalecogos, having fought alongside them multiple times over the years. As soon as it was brought into the lore we instantly knew we were going to see storylines involving the dragonflights, which is exactly what happened. Why? because we knew the characters.
That's the character hook. In WoW expansions you get the lore hook, the character hook, or in rare cases both.
Who are the characters connecting us to Avaloren? We don't even know who or what the denizens of this continent are. So yeah, it has NO hooks, which would be a first for a WoW expansion, and a bad sign for its 20th anniversary expansion.
Again, the Dragon Isles is a location that has long been known to the WoW fanbase. The Dragon Isles is a homeland to major characters we've known for years, so that pushes the players to go with them to their found homeland. So no it didn’t mean any more then the book about The green dragon and was just as likely to be in 8.3 as where ever that dragon went is to be in 10.2.
We have no idea where that Green Dragon went to. Saying that its connected to Avaloren is nothing more than wild speculation based on zero evidence.
