What would be you guys' somewhat realistic predictions for the Warcraft franchise as a whole at BlizzCon?

For me, it would have to be:

[LIST][*]World of Warcraft: 11.0 is announced. An expansion taking us to the lost kingdom of Khaz Algar, bordering the "other side of Azeroth" west of Kalimdor, beyond the storms. The main antagonist is Xal'atath, the 5th Old God, with Queen Azshara as her collaborator. Uldaz is a titan facility over there, where Innaria once ruled. We'll get lots of teasers about even more continents further to the west in this expansion. It's both the end of something old, and the start of something new. This is not necessarily where the Nightsquall sailed, or where the green dragon Erinethria flew, but it's nearby.

Some people have been dismissing any leak that has 'too many' features, but I really believe that Blizzard would go really big with 11.0. Whether it's because of honoring the fact that it's the 10th expansion and the 20th-anniversary milestone for Warcraft or simply because marketing centered around these <n>th release and 20th-anniversary milestones involves significant effort, it often carries a sense of prestige and grandeur.

Or because there just hasn't been any permanent systems in Dragonflight, and Shadowlands was fairly bare bones in that department. Future expansions form Dragonflight on have the ability to focus on more smaller systems instead of one major system that works differently for every spec for every class.

Just want to say - loving binary dude even if I 100% think it's total BS. Part of the whole fun with this is pure speculation.


That said, like... binary isn't even a puzzle (or hex for that matter) and I don't understand the dedication to it. Feels fan fictiony in the sense of thinking they're being much more clever than they are.

That said, keep them coming. I'm bored and at this point anything is fun / welcomes discussion.

I would have loved this tbh, I so wanted a Dark Ranger class and it still saddens me that Blizz went into compromise mode and made it a Hunter skin, fml.

Don't be too disappointed: I suspect they did Dark Ranger Customization they way they did so they were still open to creating a Dark Ranger class in the future. They'll be doing an undeath themed expansion once per decade.

The rest seems to be combination of both systems, will take time to translate.

I mean, it's the druid situation just on large scale.
Everyone getting a new spec but Druids is going to, rightfully, piss off parts of the Druid playerbase. And the argument of "But they have 4 specs" is kind of iffy, because they didn't really gain anything new when getting a 4th spec, it was done for balance purposes by Blizzard , but there wasn't really a new role.

Yeah exactly, what’s with Druids that won’t get anything? Do they get some new forms to please them? An additional spec per class is just not a good option in any way or capacity, there are more downsides than upsides. And creating a new class is just way easier and less hassle than creating 12 new specs that somehow need to be unique enough to be worth to be played.

Path of the Titan as an additional progress system that’s been kept as a base game feature for every expansion going forward would be the most logical feature and the one this game needs the most.

Even if it were present now, it's a pretty bad argument.

They need as much until it's not bad, and people are 100% in the right for pointing out it's bad and wanting not bad.

Forsaken and Night Elves both need to take a back seat, but I certainly don't think it's ok to look and say "Oh but they got so much story" when it's pretty obvious the story is there to cater to Horde sensibilities and tastes of a "Red Kalimdor". Barring, mind, any last minute surprises that justify Dragon Isles/Kalimdor cohabitation.

Blizzard catering to horde sensibilities is a new one. Maybe they'll kill Baine, or turn Lor'themar into the new expansion villain, or have the horde and only the horde continually commit every atrocity, or something to continue in their long tradition of catering to horde sensabilities.

It would have required an intro zone with lore they hadn't written yet/lore they kept rewriting.

Between Sylvanas abandoning the Horde and her opening the Shadowlands, the Sylvanas loyalists see her one last time with Nathanos in the Ghostlands. In Legion, there was lore about Nathanos training new Dark Rangers.

Imagine it like the Death Knight intro, where you start off as a new Dark Ranger being trained by Nathanos in the Ghostlands. Eventually he sends you to go to Icecrown while he waits in Plaguelands to fight Tyrande.

As a Dark Ranger, you help clear a path for Sylvanas through ICC up to Bolvar, and hold off his army while Sylvanas fights him. Then after Sylvanas breaks the helm, you're psychically wounded because of it and abandoned by Sylvanas. You surrender to the Ebon Blade when they show up and Bolvar explains what Sylvanas is doing, and you're offered the chance to serve the Alliance and Horde to stop her and her dark master, the Jailer.

Yeah, it would've worked great with what they presented. And yet Ion's excuse for why there was no new class in 9.0 was "We couldn't think of one that worked." Ugh.
