On this same note, the character animations on mounts broadly need to be updated. Every time I see another mount with no reigns where I'm firmly gripping nothing six inches above its back I just....oof. Can't use it at all.

I remember being so proud of my Mechanohog, saving for weeks if not months. It… is probably my least used mount for this reason.

I like the binary and Shadow over Azeroth most as they're basically wishlists but they're so unbelievably unlikely for the same elephant in the room reason as always - Thrall and the Storm Rider achievements. No, not the mount.

Same way the revamp coalition ignored Jaina and the datamined KT sets because it was inconvenient to them. Or any number of other theories ignoring clear direction because of unpopularity.

Something stormy in concept is coming, even if not explicitly in the name. Thrall may not be a definite, but given the existing Bronze through Gold achievements referring to storms on top of the Stormrider mount, even if it's a gryphon, he'd fit in nicely.

I have some good feeling that we are going to get Light expansion tomorrow.
The first Warcraft related thing shown in the last promo was Paladin Liadrin attacking Lich King from one of the old cinematics, they surely put her there not because its cool woman showing physical prowess, but to foreshadow coming Light Invasion.

i'm good with anything but Avaloren at this point.

Ways I could see this being explained:

1. Remnants of Gul’dan’s seafaring Stormreaver clan somehow made it to Avaloren. Perhaps reconnected with the elements and got off the Fel juice, now are somehow bound to the land. (I think this could be a pretty cool parallel to the founding of Thrall’s new Horde.)

2. I believe Kyle the Patient suggested this, but they could just be creations of Aggramar, like the original Breakers were. It’d be a little weird for them to have that same ogre-ish look, but who knows.

Either way, the name suggests a connection to Aggramar.

While I found the concept of the evergrowth interesting, I hope they don't retread those same waters in a convergent evolution kind of thing, they have a knack for doing that which I don't appreciate most of the time

I hate it because it's usually accompanied with a story where someone looks at how the Horde got hit with the villain bat so hard that it's suffered a traumatic concussion and has severe brain damage, and their takeaway is "time for the Alliance's turn".
