And the Old Gods are the most popular and beloved villains WoW have introduced.

I think an azerite-based fusion of tinker and alchemist as an artificer is by far the most likely implementation in WoW, pending the introduction of something completely new. Titan technology is also possible (or both, based on the new Trading Post weapons), but the idea of a class that operates by bleeding the planet dry is too interesting to pass up. I want to go back to class-based groups hating each other, like paladins and warlocks.

The other possibilities are Naaru tech and Legion tech, and I think both are just too specific for them to be likely (not as specific as gnome or goblin tech, but close). It's also pretty consistent with Blizzard's behaviour to give us a brand new class with similarities to the classes people have been asking for rather than just giving us the class from W3.

For me the class should be able to use any technology and perhaps if they do some limited class customization, let them be able to alter how some effects look so they can better fit their different themes. I want some form of mech rider and beyond that, I could see one spec be all about different tinkers, from mechanical creatures and turrets to traps and similar effects and then another spec be about alchemical items from healing potions to the Blight.
