For me, Dragonriding at level 10 is counterproductive to the goal of immersing new players in WoW. They'll barely get to see Azeroth, just hop between objectives. Should be a max level thing.

They cant do that if Dragon Isles is the level up experience.

Why would they add something they explicitly added to Engineering in DF to hero talent trees?

Overall, this as a good Deep Dive. Lots of pressing questions have been answered, and the whole expansion just feels more fleshed out now.

What feels bad are the lacklustre Hero Talents, the omission of a Dragonflight 2024 Roadmap, as well as zero mention of new character customisation options.

I really expected a Road Map. I was expecting to be disappointed by Hero Talents because the implementation was very rigid so most archetypes would just not make sense.

Every race in the game can be priests and Elune is relevant to 1.5 of them.

Unlike Dark Rangers, Sunwalkers, Mountain Kings and Deathstalkers, which are totally not relevant for only like 1-2 races each?

I am a bit sad to not see the visual updates to spells they kinda teased with Hero Talents, it seems thats actually not the case, or only with the key spells targeted by the hero tree, but other then that, sounds great as hell.

I was kinda hoping for an Elune theme for Priest and none of those they showed (in name only) sounds like that.

For better or worse, all that Elune stuff has gone to Druids for a long time now (and they do have an Elune Hero Spec). Despite the name, WC3's Priestesses of the Moon are Hunters mixed with Balance Druids, while Priests are solidly Light and Void.

Hell is demons. They were never going to add necromancer stuff because these add a few abilities and effects and you'd need to reskin the entire class kit to shift it to necromancer.

It was mentioned yesterday the Deep Dive panel is hosted by Ion Hazzikostas, so I would imagine this is entirely for retail WoW and not classic.

so dragonflight really is the beginning of the new philosophy of WoW going forward. Serving all types of players, removing friction, listening to feedback. Im here for it , lets go! War Within is looking incredible so far

I think people are wildly misreading the flavor on the hero class trees.

It's probably not going to be overly-centralized to a specific aesthetic fantasy, it's going to be mechanically.

Herald of the Sun will probably be more based around over-time effects, Consecration damage, Light of Dawn heal over times, Wake of Ashes. You can fit it with your idea of a Sunwalker or Sunwell focused Blood Knight, but that's not really the point.

There might be some flavored abilities (like Dark Ranger) but it's not class skins.

Hero talents need more time to bake. Luckily they have 10-12 months to finish them.

13.0 is the conclusion of the epic Titan saga, and Tinkers are all about Titanic gadgets.

It is inevitable, it is the natural endpoint of the saga.

the omission of a Dragonflight 2024 Roadmap

I feel bad for anyone who was expecting a 2024 roadmap yesterday or today, because it was pretty obvious from the start they weren't going to give us one.

A roadmap kind of ruins their 10.2 vibe, because it gives away everything that is happening starting this Tuesday. There's no reason for them to do it now... I expect that within a couple weeks we'll have the 10.2.5 PTR up and a roadmap, now that most players will have played through the Emerald Dream zone and many will have done the raid.

From all the things i was waiting to hear more, hero system sounds kinda boring as of now in functionality.

Other stuff that will cut the time wasted on redoing stuff is great, ui changes and such but im kinda disappointed by the hero stuff so far, hopefully it will just look and feel better when alpha opens up.
