If Avaloren is Arathi, and they are seeding that plotline early in the Worldsoul Saga, I think it's even more likely that the next saga will deal with the Light coming to fuck with Azeroth and us having to deal with that.

Turalyon and Yrel would be major players there. Plus any major Arathi characters we meet in Hallowsfall.

Avaloren fits for the medieval vibe and the "heretic" angle (maybe the descendants were Vrykuls who picked Light over Order/Titans)
Frankly, other than Avaloren fitting the Avalon naming convention, I'd rather not know the exact source or location unless we absolutely must or when we must.

Anytime we get new information about a new location, people end up getting obsessed with knowing more about it as soon as possible (in terms of they MUST be nailing it down, not merely being interested) or forcing it to tie it to something else rather than just have Azeroth...be its thing in terms of having unseen places off the known map.

Prequels style, it makes the world feel smaller.

You're in luck, because Avaloren was not mentioned as a plausible location for any of the new expansions. Unless it is an Arathi patch island in TWW.

Regardless of who they are, it's good that Hallowfall has the feel of the Holy Empire from Heroes 5 combined with the Warhammer Empire. A good, ultra-holy faction of humans. The Scarlet Crusade has heavily ridiculed this trope over the years.

They said there are enemies/traitors but yeah we shall see how they play out, it's nice to see the Light worship themed played straight.

Oh, I didn't mean in that capacity. I meant "oh, at the first sign of anything, Avaloren connection."

But the name does work. If Avaloren is gonna be on the scale of Kalimdor or Eastern Kingdoms, I do hope it goes beyond the Arthurian inspired, though. Otherwise we run the risk of eternal themed islands for the next 20 years.

Avaloren would make sense as the Arathi kingdom. The Odyn report mentioned it was filled with heretics - a group of people worshiping holy flame instead of the titans would no doubt be considered heretical. And as we know the Arathi are super militarized.

Also Avaloren's name no doubt draws parallels to Avalon - a mystical island from the legends of King Arthur. So kind of fitting that remnants from an ancient almost mythical human empire is there

    Also checks out.

That's nice to have a better hook for it now. No one can really complain it makes no sense to be there in a hypothetical post-Last Titan patch.

Agreed. This feels like a kick in the ass to the Human storyline in WoW and I'm really interested in how this is going to play out, even if it takes years. Between the House of Commons plot in Stormwind, a Lordaeron Paladin on the throne, and a new Arathi kingdom slowly being revealed, shit might get very interesting over time.

Also interesting tidbit about the crystal in Hallowfall in that Wowhead interview
    specifically

"-received a vision about a falling star, and it took them to Harrowfall"

which if you look at the giant crystal it does look like it crashed through the ceiling and wasnt grown there natrually, you can see impact marks around it. Its a giant crystal that gives off light, that also seems to turn to void/shadow recently..

....and it fell from the sky/space...

What other things have we seen that are golden crystal that fly through space and can turn shadow/void?

If you ask me, that looks like Draenic/Naaru symbols on the crystal.

So giant crashed ancient Naaru ship?

I think it's the Light equivalent of an Old God. Something they sent to Influence/Corrupt the planet to their side.

I can't not think of the Poopsmith from Homestar Runner in resplendent Holy garb.

Also I bet you they will have lorebooks in Hallowsfall confirming that Avaloren is where they came from, to start hyping it up to be featured in Midnight or a future saga.

I am telling you, Avaloren = Ancient EK.

So King Arathur of Avaloren. His wife Queen Guineavere. His advisor Merolin.
    His most loyal knight: Dancelot.
    Dance studio confirmed!

Now that you mention it, it was kind of strange that they kept mentioning him as a main character alongside Alleria, Thrall, and Anduin, but he was never shown.
