Azeroth being an absolute evil would be hilarious
Like we wake her up but she ends up being hyper fanatical about freedom and creation and decides to use us to cleanse other sealed worlds

Pretty sure she will be. I just hope now with metzen they try to rebuild her character to a point i don't get ptsd when she shows up anywhere. I'm afraid that there is potential they write her as the hero and savior of the midnight expansion, so lets see what path they will take with her story.
I think I'm on board with the theory that Sargeras wanted to free Azeroth. Sounds interesting.

On another note.
Seeing how Season of Discovery is currently being hardcore datamined is just sad.
It destroys the whole Community Idea of finding and seeing these things, and it will just turn out to be another patch.
Heres to hope that there is still a lot of hidden stuff.

There is enough room to transfer the whole Emerald Dream zone into the empty space west of Ohn'ahran planes. The corners of the ED zone match the circle of mountains on the sea.
I'll be shocked if they don't transfer that done to Dragon Isles by the end of the expansion. Upper Ohn'ahran is grassy fields, but the coastal area is dense forest, and the new island from Emerald Dream with Amirdrassil and surrounding forests will just add to it.
I doubt that, since Alpha/Beta it was obvious that something is missing from that hole in the ocean. I think if a transfer is going to happen, it will be within Dragonflight.
At a later point it will be a much less epic moment when Dragon Isles aren't as relevant as they are now.

The tree growing out of Emerald Dream, directly into Dragon Isles seems to be fitting the follow-up narrative after we save Emerald Dream from Fyrakk. I guess that might be a part of minor patch questline, something like 10.2.5.
It would be, once again, quite a disappointment, if this story does not get resolved on spot, while it's still fresh and engaging. But who know, right![]()
The tree belongs to the Dragon Isles. I mean the entire story has mostly been about dragons, not elves.
