I don't get why they felt they needed to even make cinematic 2.

Why not spend the resources that went into that, into a cinematic that's actually exciting to watch and leave the dialogue as just a cutscene or a simple stay awhile and listen/prompted dialogue?

The Aspects turning into dragons and just reveling in their magic again (even if nothing of actual note was to happen), would've been a lot more exciting to watch than having Alex explain the plot to us.

I have a feeling it may have to do with the new patch structure.

Even if this is the last raid, it's not even close to the last patch, so they may not feel any concern or need to put a lot of effort into a big finale cutscene for the last raid.

The new dev focus for cinematics seem to be the ones at the beginning of patches.

It is expensive, they do not have the budget to do such things anymore. The Saurfang Cinematics in BFA probably blew all the budget for such cinematics endeavours.

Supplementary material would be cheaper to sustain the narrative at this point with outsourced work because at least they could keep everything a bit more cohesive and glued together but even that they refuse to do these days beyond releasing a prequel book at the end of the expansion it is supposed to be for.

I think they meant why bother with cutscene of the aspects talking at all, not to make a big CGI cinematic. If its just characters talking, going to a cutscene doesn't add much in wow. Could have used that effort to make something showing the Tree "bloooming" into Azeroth instead.

That feels directly like a money/budget thing. I don't think the raiders even caught that Amirdrassil bloomed. There was no reason at all not to show it blooming.

Unless they are saving that, again, for the start of a new patch. They have a weird focus on beginning cinematics now.

Wouldn't be shocked if Tree doesn't come into the over world until 10.2.5 really. Would make some sense why they delayed the whats next chat as well. But people here seem to think that the world first raiders just haven't bothered looking and it is there.

I think so? Pretty sure thats how stuff like Argus and the sword worked back in Legion.

The same thing happened with Silithus. You didn't get the sword there unless you beat Antorus, though they eventually unlocked it for everyone at some point after the patch.

Yes, but there's also the likelihood of it not happening until chapter 6 even though all the content has been decrypted now (dammit, Blizz).

How different do people expect it to be tbh. Doubt it's gonna be somewhere else other than the Dragon Isles if they doing it so soon.

I would expect the landscape to at least be different as it is no longer in the dream. But we'll see how copypaste it is.

Also I got the impression they are abandoning "everything is relative" thing where both Light and Void were presented as forces that want to opress us in different ways. When Metzen talked about Midnight, Light clearly sounded like positive force.

Metzen is only talking about the Worldsoul expansions. All forces can still have questionable motives or cons. Otherwise he wouldn’t have said the Pantheon’s secrets will be revealed in The Last Titan, nor would we have the cold logic from Algalon. The forces are far from perfect, as seen in Legion, mortals don’t want to be tied to one destiny.
