It's also pretty disheartening knowing there are layoffs, even if you weren't one of those who got laid off. Makes you realise you could be off-ed at any moment too, not to mention it's so easy to lose motivation knowing you might go at any moment.

Maybe if we move the headquarters to a country where there is no agenda, maybe we can see the old Warcraft. I am sure that Metzen will not be able to realize his ideas. There will be a lot of pressure on him.

For example Japan... I'm still impressed resident evil village, The plot is boring, but due to the charisma and beauty of the characters, this game is a masterpiece. Which can be played again and again...

I think the problem stems more from the unusual relationship gamers have with game studios these days.

With most companies, you only really interact with customer support or generic websites. You don't see the employees openly chat on sites like Twitter, or personally sort of attach themselves to the brand like game devs do.

Not saying its right or wrong, but it doesn't surprise me that a consumer just wants to be a consumer, and doesn't give a damn about what goes on behind the curtains.

In a sense I get it. It is pretty weird that Blizz developers are so open about what is, essentially, a personal matter. Instead of just going home and look for a new job, they have this sort of thing going on where they all raise their hands going "me too" online whenever stuff happens. Maybe it's an American way of sticking together when there aren't any unions, I don't know.

That said, I think we can show a little patience and understanding.

I think you are right. I, for one, see that things are a little rough at Blizzard/ Microsoft HQ's. I am willing to wait for several weeks until they get things in order before wanting or seeing any news about the upcoming expansions or anything related in that area. Compassion goes along way in understanding things. Sadly. Not all players have this quality. It's just Gimme Gimme Gimme and "I want this"

Well to be fair, these news are usually prepared in advance and aren't done by the devs anyways. So no, there is no reason to expect a delay, especially as it seems the WoW team itself didn't get that much hit besides some cm's/gm's which aren't part of the dev circle anyways.

Again, why should it?? It's not like they cut whole teams like with Overwatch/Diablo/Odyssey. And february was always a quite early prediction for the alpha anyways, since we are supposed to get the release of 10.2.6. first before that.

I mean the WoWCast could drop this week, but I feel like they would preface it with an announcement in "This Week in Warcraft" or as a announcement.

really limiting the PTR testing that can be done the longer they wait to make it available. Which is mildly concerning seeing as how theyre posturing this as something really cool (which will likely require testing)
