I'm not angry, but Im just saying that Holly probably wouldn't have tweeted that one tweet at all if she wasn't cognizant of some anger in the community. The anger is more about 10.2.5 being trash than it is about 10.2.6 though (Gilneas being so low effort really ruffled feathers)

I think people more want an apology for 10.2.5 and are hoping 10.2.6 makes up for it (it won't)

I mean it's okay to call out something that is badly handled so far.

But why is it badly handled? They gave us a roadmap. They are giving us an ADDITIONAL patch. They tell us straight ahead they want to experiment with it and they cannot reveal much about it. The communication has been there and has been very clear.

I've played other games and mmo's, there been situations like these handled with more secrecy and it was handled a lot better and by companies that have less years up their sleeve.

I've seen the Gilneas quests and dig stuff trashed plenty online. The rest is liked well enough.

Here is the thing. You can only judge if it was worth keeping it secret when they reveal it and you get to play it. You literally cannot tell beforehand if it was worth it.

Well i can judge the situation created that led to it, no matter if its wow or some other game having teases campaigns and such.

We're all allowed to have our own opinion on that, i won't try forcing anyone to the one i have, even if it might sound more on the negative side.

Sure but what matters is if they payoff is worth it and to judge that, you need to actually reach the payoff

yeah this is pretty much we're im at. i was definitely a little bit frustrated on the lack of news in general, but the fact the announcement is late on top of it, not a good look imo. a bad joke is a good way to put it

Here's the thing: post-expac content has normally been non-existent OR just S4 in Shadowlands. The expectations were set higher for DF when they revealed that there would be ongoing bi/trimonthly patches for post-expansion content besides just S4... and then there was backlash because portions of one of those patches (10.2.5) were seen as buggy and/or low effort. So currently there's some whiplash online.

Yes, SOME content is better than absolutely none, but because people had higher expectations on these post-expac patches (especially when 10.0.7 and 10.1.5 were fairly meaty) I think some people are just in a worse mood during the TWW Waiting Room Period. Hence people being more antsy/attentive about 10.2.6. I don't think it will be that substantial of a patch and the gamemode(?) will likely be fairly divisive, so it will just lead to more anger. While the dripfeed content is, again, better than nothing, it is probably going to lead to some upset players.

Historically in a WoW expansion lull you would just go play other games. But if they are encouraging people to play during an expansion lull, and the patches are seen as low-effort/bad, you will get unhappy campers who feel like Blizz is tricking them into subbing.

I don't see how Blizzard is tricking anyonne into subbing. Like, you are allowed to stay unsubbed until after a patch is out.

People just need to step outside for a bit and chill. There's more games than WoW. There's more to life than being disappointed that a x.x.6 patch is not "meaty" enough because you yourself hyped it up to a level that it obviously wasn't gonna reach.

There is a line somewhere between "the community hyped themselves too much" and "the reclamation of Gilneas City (actually the entire area) is five quests".
