Once again:

People need to take a step back and evaluate their lives if they actually get upset by that. Disappointing? Sure. Angry and throwing vitriol? Deranged.

No one expected anyone to resub for anything lmao.

And yeah, the community absolutely overhyped themselves. I don't know who expected anything longer than what we got based on all the other .5 quest chains like the Eredar one or even Lordaeron.

The idea that it is coming late so they have an excuse not to respond to people about it is a funny theory.

The SoD phase 2 reveal came out after 6 PM PST, but that was also their first post after their social media went dark for days following the layoffs. I figured external factors like that were the cause of the weird timing, but who knows now.

That'd be 5 hours from now if nobody wants to timezone it.

Honestly surprised wow doesn't have a dedicated wave-based combat minigame. Could it be because everyone complained about Violet Hold? Violet hold's style of dungeon would have been extremely fun if it had mechanics to appropriately respond to downtime.

When I saw the string I assumed it would be renamed something else, but then I saw Vampire Survivors got an official Among Us tie-in dlc. So clearly they're down to do some product placement.

The problem with stuff like that is that they become tedious.. In Vampire Survivor (and others like it) the mobs are just an obstacle while you explore a big room to find secrets and new weapons for you to use the more runs you do.

Whereas with Violet Hold, Black Morass, and others like it is that you're not going out to explore, you have to defend a point from different waves.. and those waves don't come out simultaneously, they come out one group at a time instead of an actual "wave" of enemies (Battle for Mount Hyjal did this better, but even then nobody liked that raid from what I've heard.)

The closest we got to Vampire Survivor was OG Torghast.. but instead of getting one anima power, you sometimes get two or three powers along with better rewards than just materials for a legendary... and also make it one big open area rather than just 5-6 corridors of enemies + one boss. Have the enemies come to the player like they've aggro'd an entire low level dungeon.

I understand that it's a big ask especially with reworks and all that but I wish they made Torghast an evergreen system with like seasonal rewards.

Refine it a bit like making each wing smaller so it's not 80% walking, have less wings, more fighting, more powers.

Make it have more than just "Dark Tower" themed rooms, like Emerald Dream-themed rooms, or Northrend-themed rooms.

If 10.2.7/TWW Alpha was confirmed starting after 10.2.6 shadowdrop in the next week I think we'd all calm down. But, again I don't really expect that out of this article lol.

Obviously, there's still a bit of time left in the day. But, I am not exactly thinking anything is going to happen now.

Again, I would prefer if they at least update us on Twitter/X that the This Week in Warcraft schedule has been shuffled. I am totally fine if they just want to Shadowdrop and this article was a spoiler and they decided against it.

I don't even know, honestly. I am fascinated by this though at this point and what they ultimately do.

this is the biggest thing. they know the community sentiment. they know people are expecting this news at a certain time. doing anything other than that just shows a disregard for the community sentiment

Dev updates have all been substantially about the future of the game past current, I doubt it would be S4 unless its a complete revamp of Fated/S4. Obviously, this is not some precedent though but I'd be surprised but it is the only viable option outside of 10.2.7 (Why?) / TWW Alpha (I guess? But really?).

I mean hypothetically it is likely S4 though? I could see if the S4 Formula has improved that it could be article worthy, there is the World Content for S4? Who knows.

They actually made the development post already, but since 10.2.6 is such a big secret, they put the post under NDA, printed it out on invisible ink and shut it in a dafe at the deepest level of Blizzard campus.
