Yeah. I remember how they nerfed the Paraxis in 9.1.5 to make the Eonar Mythic encounter from Antorus soloable. Based on the timeline's pedigree, we should have gotten changes to make BfA soloable in 10.1.5. Instead, Mythrax is still not soloable, Opulence not soloable, Conclave of the Chosen not soloable, all because of bullshit mechanics that you can't do anything about.

Since it appears that 10.2.6 takes place in Freehold, based on that Pirate image from the Dev """update""", it's an opportune moment to make BfA raids legacy content; and it is long overdue.

That's not so much issue as some bosses have mind control mechanics to them, like the 2nd to last boss of Uldir, where just as the fight starts he'll insta-MC you and you die before you could even touch him. Other bosses were built for coordination in mind like the Treasure Elemental boss in Dazar'alor.

It's definitely Freehold assets, but it's not the current version of Freehold at least, might be updated or somewhere else entirely with reused assets for piratey reasons.

I think the first can be done with some creative positioning and the second can also be done, you just need to grind through it.

Collectables will definitely be a part of the upcoming event, but hopefully the gameplay is going to be on par/worth it (it'll have to be for it to be consistently replayable as Max mentioned). You can't have a good event without both of those being good (as indeed shown by the HS or archival event not exactly being fun).

So we have:

- A pirate themed limited event.
- Pirate collectables.
- Presumably good / interesting gameplay.
- Replayability.
- Access for Classic and Retail players.

Conclusions (IMO):

- Is not in the Dragon Isles.
- It is queubable from 1 to 3 players.
- It is queubable from level 20.
- Reuses BfA islands.
- Proto TWW Delves experience.

The average player primarily cares about collectibles, cosmetics, and transmog farms of legacy raids.

But you still can't solo BfA because some mechanics just cannot be solo'd.

An easy solution to earn back the community's goodwill will be to make BfA raids legacy content for 10.2.6/10.2.7 (with the appropriate mechanic adjustments). The average player just wants to transmog farms old raids and making BfA raids legacy content will be a considerable amount of content for the average player at minimal costs for Blizzard.

But since you don't need a Dragonflight license to access Kul Tiras and, thus, Freehold, it makes sense to have the event located in Kul Tiras instead of Dragon Isles. Since the event is not supposed to require a Dragonflight license to be accessible.

It makes sense for it to be anywhere but the Dragon Isles, yes, but not neccesarily Kul Tiras though. I don't actually know where it happens, I have a rough guess but I don't actually know. Freehold would make sense for the pirates, but the Freehold assets being reused makes sense for the same reason.

If it's an instanced area, I'm not really sure the setting matters. There's nothing stopping them from making an instanced area that happens to be set on the Dragon Isles available to everyone, especially in the expansion's epilogue.

Can someone find that area in Freehold for a side-by-side? I would check it out myself but I'm at work.

Actually, it does make sense to prioritize Kul Tiras for a wide-spread event, because Kul Tiras since Shadowlands is the standard questing experience assigned to new or returning players after Exile's Reach.

It simply makes more sense to set the event in Kul Tiras instead of pretty much any other continent that a new player or returning player likely doesn't know about (as any other continent besides obviously Zandalar is only accessed through Chromie time and is not the standard questing route, which is Kul Tiras).

Since the building's architecture is Kul Tiran, naturally this place will be tied to Kul Tiras in some way.

Why though? We have excellent assets for it already. I'd want some slight reskins for the flags but the Freehold assets are good enough for me.
But wouldn't Plunder Isle be tropical? This does not look tropical. Always thought Plunder Isle was WoW's version of fantasy Tortuga.
