Interesting based on former devs on twitter - this event used to be something else and was changed/reskinned to be pirate themed after the fact

So they have another season in the bank. Were there any items/files pointing to something else?

Maybe general faction themed because they started with Arathi as the map?

Yeah if its fun, it could become a full blown feature in either 11.0 patches, or 12.0.

I would think they add new powers and changes like that every season, but they only release one new map an expansion.

A hand crafted map made for the mode every expansion. Every season makes changes to the map to mix it up, but its the same map. Next expansion brand new map. Every season in WoW gets a new battlepass like thing to fill out. 100 renown levels to fill over 5/6 months. Cosmetics only.

That's what I'm thinking too and it would make sense theme wise for the upcoming patches and expansions.

Also void makes way more sense to be during TWW and/or Midnight. If this comes back that should be the theme of the season.

100%. The merch for this patch is a t-shirt that has the logo on the front and says "Yes, pirates." on the back, referencing the Ybarra "No pirates" tweet.

Sure hope so. There were some datamined strings referencing Bel'ameth-Gilneas, so one hopes so. Bel'ameth is already easily the most convenient capital city for Alliance, and having quick access to Gilneas as well would be the cherry on top.

I checked and I'm not seeing anything, at least in Gilneas.

The transport map is in, but if it is indeed not in 10.2.6 it'll probably be a 10.2.7 thing.

Yeah I'm honestly surprised how much I'm enjoying myself. I generally hate PVP but this is fun.

I know it's different teams, but it's really making some of the patch event content look rough. Can only imagine this style of play but for current content.

IE Plunderstorm as Gilneas Reclaimation.

Instead of parrots diving in, you're flung in via plague barrel.

Everyone is "infiltrating" the Scarlet Crusade, which would allow the free-for-all aspect. Scarlets are main mobs, but plenty of others are scattered. Ettins, rebel undead, etc.

The renown track is something like Scarlet Turncloaks which awards Scarlet transmog refered to as something like "reclaimed supplies". It coould work similar to Helldivers major orders, the amount of mobs killed, games played, etc., slowly turns the dial for the reclaimation, which then unlocks the final questline. Or it just lands after the 6 weeks.

Event is fun, but...200+ games fun? Not sure about that. The renown rate is extremely slow.
