Not sure if it's better or worse that the best way to farm rep is to avoid other players as much as possible.

You land, do the quest eventually you will have like 300-450 plunders and then decide if you see enough gold to get to 500 or die to a mob.

Funny enough i just walked to player because every mob was dead around and said "kill me" but they ran away from me just to do their plunders farm.

Im only lvl 9, about to hit 10 i think but im playing since morning, and its hell of a grind.
Maybe i will try to get the second transmog set but not sure if i have enough will power, i think it's lvl 14 to get all things i want without trying to grind renown 40 and bore myself to death.

This. While I'm also already at renown 9, I have quite fun with it but no clue why anyone is burning themselfs out on this, we have 6 weeks to finish the battlepass.

IMO they are not as unbalanced as they seem.

The Frost Bolt can mess with you badly if you do not have a movement skill.

The Void area attack will kill you if they manage to land it. Same with Searing Axe.

Of course we have the Fire Tornado thing which is really good, although players are starting to find ways to avoid it.

Even the arcane orb is quite useful.

Plunderstorm has been out for a day, people will get better at it and we will start to see new builds.

See here is the thing. Searing Axe will only land on someone if you manage to stun them first. So for requiring setup, it should be doing far more damage than flame whirl. If you get unlucky to land near someone with flame whirl, you might as well tab out

Yes, it is unbalanced. It was not put on PTR, after all. I think we can safely expect balancing changes, though.

I don't think it is THAT unbalanced tbf, aside from fire whirl which is super overpowered, the rest seems rather OK (with ofc some spells being a tad better than others, but it also really depends on how you use them?)

I think it's also fair to mention that while stuff like the Void explosion is bad against players, it is amazing if you get it early and use it to kill loads of enemies quick.

It's just that I feel players new Flame Whirl was OP within hours of this launching so why did it ever get released without a nerf? Oh well I guess I am salty. Also the best way to do well is to get lucky to find a secluded spot early on to level and really, try and avoid pvp for as long as possible while grinding mobs. I am not experienced with the genre but is it normal for the best option to be to avoid pvp?

They could honestly reskin this so easily. Could even keep the Plunder iconography. Bring in multiple renown tracks, let the player choose their renown, they skin as that group, drop in.

"Champion... it's Dragonscale Expedition leader XYZ here. We need more funding! Get down there and grab us some coin!"

"Your kingdom needs you. Footman of Stormwind, help us gather resources back from these thieving pirates to restore the Kingdom's coffers."

"The Earthen Ring senses a disturbance in X zone. Pirates ravaging the land for gold. Clear the earth of their kind and keep their prizes to dissuade scavengers."

Just calling it an adventurer can easily become a body for hire for any faction looking for gold or a fighting body in said region. Could be some really fun combinations on maps and renowns.

Or they could bring back the Azerite stuff, but instead of Horde or Alliance.. you're part of the Venture Company all fighting/cheating your way to get as much Azerite to the Big G, (Gallywix).

They can do more than just "collect pirate booty."

I’ve done about 5-6 games so far I think and only barely at Renown 2 lol I don’t really care for the rewards though so no issues there but it does seem very slow. Doubt I’ll play it much more.

I really love how some of the spells look and really hope they introduce them to retail. My Shaman and Mage would love to have them!

The starting dive feels clunky compared to DF dragonflying.

I imagine that is by design to prevent players hitting specific areas far away from where they spawn.

i won a battle royal and couldn't help but notice there ain't any reward for winning, no bonus plunder unless i didn't see it
