At the end of the day, I don't like PVPing in retail, yet I don't go around suggestion that maybe killing the neutral mobs in Alterac Valley or doing the Towers in Legion should give me progress towards the saddle.
BRs are inherently PVP, not always direct combat, but they are PVP.
The more you nudge the plunder gain towards the PVE-side, the worse the quality of the matches get. Ruining a game mode by appeasing people who don't wanna play is idiotic.
To be fair, without the pvp part it would just have been a big island expedition. And how would you win if you couldn't kill other players? Make monsters so OP that everyone but one get killed by them or what?

No? The game mode isn't ruined by people killing themself lol, it actually makes it better as you can win easier thanks to that.

Honestly, Makorus's sweaty pvp whining just reminds me how good HotS was before they tried to make it into a shitty Esports ... maybe accept that Blizzard likes to take a genre and create a more casual version of it that everyone can enjoy, both pvp lovers and thouse who would rather avoid it.
PvP mode with a lot of plunder points for killing each other and other pvp activities and PvE extraction like mode, where you land let's say with 1-4 people and plunder all you can, there are more enemies, bosses are stronger and you have to get on ship in time, maybe then have last big boss fight on a ship too with NPC ship crew that try to do piratey stuff to you and steal all your booty.
I wouldn't mind if it had some similarities to island expeditions but on this tech as base with more fast paced combat.
In my opinion this experimental tech mode base might bring some cool ideas and gamemodes in the future, but i still hoped they would do plunderstorm a little differently, but that is why i grind this quick as possible.

Sorry, I play the game mode to have fun, surprisingly enough, not because my FOMO-addled brain tells me I need some cosmetics I am never gonna use, so I don't care about winning.
However, if people kill themselves on purpose/actively avoid fights because "it's not worth it", then yeah, it absolutely affects the quality of games.
The world revamp dream will never die!
But it's only "it's own game" so that people from classic can play it too. Without classic, you would just go to Pirate Peete in Valdrakken and tell him you want to play a round of plunderstorm (or enter via the dungeon browser). At it's core, it's not so different than lets say pet battles. Lots of people actually complained back than that f.e. Hearthstone wasn't more connected to WoW, and honestly, they should have done the same approach there - different "gamemode" on the launcher, but closely connected to WoW with seasonal rewards.
Ah, that would be a dream. A battlepass from plunderstorm, a battlepass from your current WoW season aswell as a battlepass from Hearthstone - all of them free though, no premium shit. And yes I'm real, I like battlepasses haha. They are like achievements but ... better?
Besides plunderstorm, when we should expect 10.2.7 PTR?

With the daily.
If you get #1, you get pretty much 2k as well.

Sorry, what's the problem?
The problem being that some people don't like PVP? Would it be better if the rewards become unavailable? Or should Blizzard just release them to everyone for free, because god forbid you need to step out of your comfort zone for free cosmetics.
It's crazy though, every time I get top 10 I spectate just to run through what everyone is using. Almost everyone is flame whirl.
I never said such thing, stop putting words into my mouth. But increasing the progress rate so it's roughly 1 renown per game with daily bonus or 2-3 games without daily bonus should give a much more pleasant experience for people who don't want this BR crap in their MMO and be done with it ASAP.

Flame Whirl is good at the end because the circle is so small that no matter what you do you will be able to either hit them with Whirl or force them out of the ring. Likewise, it slaps at the start of the match because you can't really escape because it makes you faster and you probably won't have any escape utility.
Realistically, it's not as overpowered as I initially thought. Once you get Soulshape or any of the shields, it's easy to just camp it out. Rime Arrow is absolutely disgusting, and the Blink-Stealth thing is the most aggravating thing in the game.
Flame Axe/Manasphere are both way better and more reliable than Flame Whirl, I think, and the Bomb is really good if you have some kind of lockdown like the traps or a stun.
