They want to sell Dragonflight as long as humanly possible, hence the post-expansion content and withholding alpha.

Thats the norm for the most part. I think only bfa had a very early alpha, but bfa testing is famously known for being really bad with essentially no changes for 6 months or so.
A lot of public builds for late summer releases appeared around april, so we are still very much in the planned schedule.

5-6+ months Alpha/Beta used to be a norm. In DF they went very efficient, mostly because DF systems didn't have 15 iterations. Alpha started in July and expac launched in November.
What withholding Alpha? And what it has to do with selling DF as long as possible???
Man, 10 days past the Alpha possible release marking point and we are already getting ridiculous. If they would want to sell DF "as long as humanly possible", they would do a fourth raid tier.

Sometimes, the light of the moon is a key to other spaces. I've found a place where, for a night or two, the streets curve in unfamiliar ways. If I walk here, I might find insight, or I might be touched by madness.

Not sure why but I imagine maybe age has partly to do with it, Jim Cummings is 71 now after all. Also Mercer's got more name recognition especially in regards to D&D right now due to Critical Role.
Not much of Argus left? I mean there's the whole honking planet left, isn't there? You can see it in the skybox. That said, I don't have much hope for Argus to return in any capacity.
From what we could see and experience, almost entire planet is a fel wasteland that looks like it's about to blow up any second, so that's probably gives us nothing more to explore. And that was the entire point, Kil'jaeden willingly sacrificed it to Sarg for power, the world soul was utterly fucked.

We are past 2017, Argus has now a flashed out look and environment and we pretty much explored the 2 only places on the planet that have any variance in aesthetic.
And the second one (Antorus) only does so within Sargeras' Facility.
The rest of the planet is an empty, green wasteland.
Just more Krokuun.
thoughts on cata classic getting updated models?

Really, every expansion's alpha/beta schedule has been very different, partly due to the gradual change of what those words mean within the larger video game industry. Before Cataclysm, an Alpha was firmly an internal thing & a beta is when you tested it among people outside the industry. But since then Alpha has been when only some of the game's features are playable, while a beta is when the game is functionally whole & just needs bugtesting. While back in Wrath the Beta launched & the Death Knight starting zone wasn't even playable & DKs just spawned in EPL with no fanfaire. Now you might even argue that alpha & beta are antiquated terms & everything pre-release is just "Early Access."
Dragonflight's was effectively a throwback to the pre-cata model where the DF "alpha" was just the beta, only they gated specific features & areas on specific weeks, but really it was in a Beta state as everything was largely ready to be played. The update makes sense, considering all the classic textures were originally created this way & were de-resed to lower resolution for the sake of people's hardware capabilities. So these are just the original assets, finally able to be introduced at their full resolution. (Note: I'm not actually sure if these are the originals or they used some sort of up-res algorithm: That depends on whether or not they kept the original resolution texture artwork.)
I would like these textures to be functional in Classic & Season of Discovery, because the only thing that would get me to play Cata is if they announce they're finishing the cancelled Abyssial maw raid. I would consider anyone subjecting themselves to the original Cataclysm endgame twice in one lifetime a form of self harm.
If these new Twilight robes are them actually adding new things to Cata Classic then they should have led with that at Blizzcon.

I forgot that there's some new holiday listed as 10.2.7, maybe these TBC/classic recolors will tie to that.
Is it going to be a micro holiday or a new substantial one like Hallows Eve/Winter Veil.

It's prolly the pride festival, as we got some assets with rainbows datamined iirc (or are they used for the easter event?).

Because there is literally 0 reason to talk about it before the launch of alpha? Delves need actually gameplay footage from different players, not some blog post or marketing video.
See, they are already changing M+ to make it a better curve for casuals, and I'm all in for making Mythic raiding more accessible, because the current model of making a raid for 3 guilds and than nerfing it to the ground so that top 1k guilds can clear it after 6 months is just bullshit. It's cool that delves seem to be something more beefy for "outdoor players", but imo the game needs every pillar made for the majority of it's players, not only 1%. Atleast PVP will get Battleground Blitz next Expansion.
Thinking that delves alone will be the "feature for casual gamers" is gonna fail though, as I said, EVERY pillar needs to me more accessible, instead of trying to create consolation content. M+ does it best rn, M+20 can be done by EVERYONE if they want, and everything above just gives the hero title which is a variant of the seasonal title anyways.
