I mean, would you say it's wrong? Games nowadays are full of DLC's, gamepasses n shit. Obviously the secondary renown track ain't going to be P2W, but it doesn't hurt to be at the very least skeptical.

i have read the same comments when the trading post was announced. Everyone and their mother went the "battlepass" route. People are too jaded about anything, and treat everything with the most distain and assume the worst.

A Battlepass is linked to a optional buy-in portion.

You have to pay NOTHING for this stuff. Just play the game.

It is functionally a Battle Pass. You do content, you level up, you get rewards. It also has limited seasonal duration.

Yep. Would make the game far less toxic to move cosmetics to a seasonal battlepass like system instead of gating them behind "elite stuff".

Who gives a flip if it’s a ‘battle pass’, it’s an effective engagement strategy. Play and you’re rewarded, it’s simple. Literally no different than legion mage tower, or MoP challenge modes, they’ve been doing this for years, and it’s ok!

As multiple people here (me included) have already told you - they fulfill the same role as the titans used to in the overall narrative structure, only on a grander scale (bc the scale of the story has grown).

I think most people will associate a battle pass, ie the fortnite battle pass, a paid feature, with payment. But other than that, yes its otherwise like a battle pass.
