I'm so confused by this short because I don't know why Midnight would start with fighting the Amani again....and its not a prequel because we see modern lorethemar. I thought it was a prequel because that's sylvanas' pre-undeath design. Which is worse? Them spoiling Alleria reverting to her classic design or just reusing Sylvanas' living design for Vareesa?

There's so much canon fuckery in that clip. I suppose it could be WC2... But Lorethemar is wearing modern clothes....forgetting that Quel'thalas didn't get its "red" makeover until they became Blood Elves: The royal color was blue before that.

I would guess it's about Alleria's history. Starting with her fighting the Amani and then the Second War, and continuing through WoW.

What the heck... that is unexpected.

We see Lor'themar in the first shot. High Elves versus the Orcs and Amani Trolls during WC2. Then a shot of Alleria slapping with her bow (*facepalm), and Sylvanas going down with a curved sword.

But it is using the TWW logo, not Midnight. I guess this will be a animation short that will go into Allerias backstory. A bit more involved then the shorts, but not as highly produces as the saurfang cinematics. Perhaps also setting up some story beats for Midnight.

I am guessing they were in production with Threads of Destiny when Mark Messenger left. Then they probably shifted to this new format once somene else took the lead. Unexpected but cool.

The soontm thing makes me think it's going to be a little further off than that. It could be a preview of Midnight's shorts, or even an actual animated series.

Edit: Perhaps its some sort of timey wimey thing to promote the anniversary event? There's orcs in the short, and that doesn't make sense on any temporal level.

That's defenitly the burning of Quel'Thalas from WC2. But why focus on this particular event? To show Alleria's backstory?

Ngl it's great to see Alleria and Sylvanas in action together, having only read about it in ToD novel. I'm hoping that Khadgar, Kurdran, Orgrim, and Zul'jin will also be in the short, since they all participated in this event.

We may be getting some sort of new lore, because the old Horde actually marching on quelthalas is never mentioned until chronicles 1. Before that we only knew the Amani were hired to help them attack lordaeron. I suppose them also attacking silvermoon for the Amani would have been quid pro quo

Still shocked we finally have a reason to give Vanessa some characterization & she's just gone.
