War Within Beta Launch Test – August 15

Please join us for a special test on the War Within Beta realms tomorrow, Thursday, August 15 at 1:30 p.m. PDT (4:30 p.m. EDT, 22:30 CEST).

At that time, only a special realm named "Launch Test" will be available for testing.

Please log into the Launch Test realm and copy your live character or use a level 70 character template and then head to Dalaran. At 2:00 p.m. PDT (5:00 p.m. EDT, 23:00 CEST), we'll simulate a full expansion launch. Testers should receive the quest to start the expansion intro experience at that time.

Thereafter, we’ll play through the expansion intro and all the way into the first zone, the Isle of Dorn. We'll aim to end the test at around 3:30 p.m. PDT (6:30 p.m. EDT, 00:30 CEST) and we’ll return other test realms to service thereafter.

Thank you and we’ll see you in Dalaran!

Ooo, I know a lot of the datamining crew tends to hold on to some of the major spoiler pieces so there's some surprise for us speculators, so I hope this is the case.

I just can't imagine Khadgar is gone at the beginning of this saga. He deserves to be a box cover character at some rate, he's the tether to a lot of the "cosmic" stuff for us. All of the magical forces, etc.

I can picture the model, I remember seeing that. I'd be surprised to see Khadgar any time before 11.2, but the sooner the better for dear Dadgar.

I don't remember it exactly, but isn't medivh still the guardian? Khadgar refused to become the new one and is only guardian by title not because he inherited the powers.

What would be point of revealing 11.1 on Gamescom? They did it on before Legion launch to show they don't want to repeat WoD patch schedule (I know, right). Now we expect patch schedule in advance with rough estimate of patch sizes, theme doesn't have to be spoiled before PTR.

What could that be other than rehashing information that we already know? A new intro cinematic definitely could help (as long as a little more happens than the previous one). An early look at Midnight is hopefully thinking, but I couldn't imagine something more exciting than a full HD look at Quel'thalas.

Never been a fan of that particular animation style, i find it quite rough, but the short was pretty good nontheless.

Certainly wouldn't mind a series.

Man the video confirms what I suspected about the vocal online community. If you wrap it up in a ton of random violence and rule of cool nonsense, suddenly "big feels" moments become WARCRAFT. It's almost like tricking a toddler into eating their veggies by cutting them into fun shapes.

That being said, it was cool as heck. But man, I'm giggling at how it recapped basically stuff we already knew/has been explained before. Alleria is a big softie trying to be a big Not Softie to stop bad people. I almost feel bad for her, because I feel pretty confident saying that she's either going to have a change of heart, and realize family matters, or is going to lose someone (my money is on Arator) and realize she was wrong but it's too late now.

The fluidity of the animation was solid, the actual art could use some work. But I really enjoyed it and hope they do some more of these.
