There is a cinematic that currently has the wrong audio in-game, so you'll have to watch it on YouTube instead if you are doing it pre-hotfix (which I hope will come sooner rather than later).

Wow. I was not expecting a single thing that happened in that cinematic.
Yeah, I unfortunately got the big reveal when the cinematic error'd and showed me the NPC. Still cool though.
I liked it. I also like that I really have no idea where we're going after this, and I have no idea what Xal'atath's motives, plan, or origins are. The thread of mystery is still alive, yet the story continues.
Xal'atath harvesting our rage vs the Nerubians and vice versa is an interesting point. They will obviously be our allies once Ansurek is deposed, and maybe that does give more credit to an Ascended allied race possibility (although the whole mind controlled by Xal thing is kind of a red flag).
Anduin rezzing Khadgar is a great turn. I like how they're handling Anduin this expansion, he holds a lot of weight without being overtly pro Alliance or overtly neutral. His heart still holds true to Stormwind and the Alliance, but he is also here to aid the world.
I wonder if Khadgar will have any visions from the Void to share with us.
Agreed. Blizz is holding their storytelling kinda close to their chest on this one and I really like it. There is a significant jump in quality from DF's narrative and pacing here. Great on Blizz to follow through on recognzing and learning from their mistakes.
Pretty decent stuff, finally we stopped Xals annoying smugness
Sometimes, the light of the moon is a key to other spaces. I've found a place where, for a night or two, the streets curve in unfamiliar ways. If I walk here, I might find insight, or I might be touched by madness.

I was EXTREMELY happy to see Alleria get a win and the Dark Heart get cracked/fucked up this early in the expansion. In previous expansions this would've taken a much longer time and probably happen in a regular quest.
Also the tone of the first campaign being everyone wins is pretty cool, unless something shocking happens after Ansurek. Which I doubt.
As for the Ascended mind control, that plot point smacks of "this is part of unlocking them" to me. The only reason they would be happy with us killing Ansurek is if we free them and expose the conspiracy.

I think if there's a large reveal for Nerub'ar it'll be from the Ethereal boss opposed to Ansurek. I think Xal will have effectively fully abandoned Ansurek having used her for what she needed, leaving her with her own ambitions to weigh her down. A raid/revolution will be the end of that.
An early speculation for Nexus Princess Ky'veza's involvement was her abilities which may have indicated she was the one to kill Neferess and aid Ansurek's usurping of the throne as an envoy for Xal'atath, but after the first Ansurek short we see that's not the case. Is Ky'veza's duty to tie loose ends for Xal'atath and kill Ansurek herself, but we stop it?
There's not a single reference to the ethereals I've found yet in questing Azj-Kahet, so I assume more will be seen from that. Maybe ethereal_raid is our truthteller.

I hate how easy portals are to set up in Warcraft lore. Setting up a portal to a far away land or another realm should only be achievable by an archmage or a group of mages, and even then the portals should only be open briefly and allow only one or just a few people to go through. I always hated how we just easily summoned in armies from Azeroth into AU Draenor. What’s even the point of the Dark Portal then?

I actually think the ending cinematic for the raid may have been spoiled, if I remember correctly by the datamined scene descriptions. I think it was just Ansurek succumbs to the void and receives a vision from Xal or something like that, which I assume will just be to give the players a tease of Rootlands and maybe Xal's true form which was already teased by her voice
Very unexpected turn of events.
I never like when they made us believe that a character is dead and suddenly he comes back without a decent explanation. But it is a pretty good end for the campaign, especially taking Anduin's arcinto account.
What excites the most is that after this things get interesting and maaaaany theories have just went to shit.
Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive.
I'm still holding out hope for us reforging Atiesh later in the Expansion. What was the point of breaking it if not to finally give it in players hands again?

So it seems likely that Xal is gonna get a bit desparate now, I love how different she sounds when she isn't angry
Definitely seems like it's gonna be a genie out of a bottle type situation with the void and possibly dimensius

Makes sense the next legendary to be a caster one; perhaps they're waiting until the mid or last patch
Yeah, if we fight her in this Expansion (they only confirmed she will survive) it would make sense to have her drop the shards/splinters of Atiesh now that we won't get the Ethereal Khadgar fight haha.
So maybe tanks or healers will instead get something from the goblins first? Maybe a titanic mace similiar to Valanyr, but gobbo themed this time?

Also, who thought Alleria was shooting Beledar?
One more post, looks like in the campaign scenario it is confirmed we spare Neferess so one more point to Nerubians!

I am utterly amazed by how good they've made the in-game cinematics look in war within
I remember how impressed I was with
How far we've come
