The reaction was expected unfortunately. I for one do not care if the side content they're making is completely irrelevant to the story, it's nothing but a good thing that they're putting out more side content in between the major patches.

When you look back at the content droughts in the past during WOD and SL, and when you see how badly FF14 fell off as they went into the similar patch cycle - Endwalker had 8 hour queues but the latest expansion Dawntrail didn't even have a queue, that's to emphasise how badly they fell off. Lessons are actually being learnt from the past, From both developers. The biggest winner is the player as Developers now know if you just release an expansion with just a story and a patch consisting of a few quests in between the main playerbase will actually fuck off elsewhere and un-sub.

You've got new collectables, more than likely catch up gear, Plunderstorm and Turbalent Timeways for the alts to make up for the loss of the stuff when the anniversary goes away. They can bring back Onxyia's Lair at max level like they randomly did in WOTLK for all I care.

So now we'll spend 2 patches doing random side stuff with goblins and haranir before she comes back for midnight?

They are even calling the 11.0.7 story the "epiloge of The War Within", so the main story is just done.

It really feels like Metzen just got what Danuser had prepared for TWW out of the way so he can focus on his saga (which will really start in Midnight).
It seems they're experimenting with how other live service games like Destiny 2 and FF14 go where they build towards an expansion using patch content rather than building towards the final patch. Hype and attention are at its highest at expansion launch so having the big moments happening when most people are around isn't a bad way to do it. It can also lend itself flexibility in case cuts need to be made. We've had a lot of lackluster final patches or build to a final boss.

But what the hell is up with Blizzards aversion of using 3D assets for their non-robe item variants?

    Like look at this:

    Robe

Thigh plates, wrist and chest decoration.

    Shirt

No chest crystal, no wrist decoration.
The plates also disappear because they are part of the robe and there is no plated pants option.
(and the pants texture is as usual horrendous)

Or the robeless Leggings of Judgements that Paladins got, but their shirt at least has a 3d cross on it.

Not the first time this has happened either.
Cloth (especially priest sets) in particular suffers from shitty pants syndrome for a while now.
Almost feels like a bug or unfinished model. Given the quality of this patch, either one seems possible.

Explore the Fate of the Kirin Tor
Delve into the aftermath of Dalaran's fall in The War Within epilogue questline—the Kirin Tor must confront their past mistakes and decide on the future course of their people.
It's poorly worded granted, but it seems more likely and indeed more logical to reason it's the epilogue of the Kirin Tor characters and plotline in TWW than the expansion entire. Probably some new formation of a Council of Six and just moving Khadgar et. al to the background so that they can pull off an 11th hour cavalry charge with some new form of Dalaran, like Jaina at the Battle of Lordaeron, to happen at some point in Midnight or TLT.

The icon for the pants version of paladin's T2 legs include 3D elements which are not in the 3D model. I hope they fix it.

Hmmm I agree that's one way to do it that could work, but it's not what WoW used to do. Granted, in many expansions, like DF, it shows that they barely had any direction going from base expansion to patch content, where DF felt like they changed the story direction at every patch, or BFA felt like a mishmash of barely related expansion concepts turned into patch content, while the main BFA story felt like it ended with battle of dazaralor + saurfang vs sylvannas cinematic.

The hell you are talking about. WoW has stable 2 month schedule since late 2022, if anything it's FF14 who can fit their schedule around WoW (assuming they suffer content drought as you said). Time for 11.1 is late February/early March, and it will take MMO spotlight for 2-3 weeks until race is over.

It's probably single stream for whole Warcraft franchise, including Classic, Reforged 2.0 and (sigh) Hearthstone, Rumble. I expect 11.1 reveal, would be happy to see 2025 Roadmap (although it's more likely we will see it late December as always, if they didn't show it in last Blizzcon, why would they now?), any deep dive of patch would be a surprise.

Personally I prefer cohesive continent in TWW over visiting some single famous place in single patch, that's why I'm on the fence with Undermine. I know it's a meme, but Plunder Isle, Kezan/Undermine, Lost Isles and Tel'Abim would be perfect together for South Seas expac where you can't make cohesive continent anyway (and making continent from any of these 4 would be big stretch).

    Seen the nightborne herritage armor?

Same freaking thing. Legs are like leggings and all 3d parts, including wrists pieces, hip pieces even chin piece all attatched to the chest piece.

Its not a bug or unfinnished, this is how blizz does these things. Nothing new, but realy bad I know. This is what it is. Dont expect further improvements.

They will explain why Jaina is once again the leader of the Kirin Tor and that's it

Been a thing for a while. See my post above. People are literally forgetting the nightborne herritage armor. Same deal, this is just how blizz does these things. Its frustrating.

I'm feeling mid February. We have the next small patch going up on the PTR today, so give that a month or so. Plus factor in Thanksgiving holiday slowing things a bit. So early to mid December release for that. PTR for 11.1 goes up at the same time, a few weeks to work then the holidays, then all of January.

So mid February, maybe the 11th. I know Love is in the Air had an update recently but maybe another small tweak to it too.

Assuming the usual PTR timetable, and a quick active PTR for 11.1 I would say somewhere in early February at the earliest.
That being said. Not impossible that 11.1 comes out quickly after 11.0.7, which might give us the patch somewhere in January if we are very lucky.
The world revamp dream will never die!

9 expansions later. That's the problem numbnuts. You clearly didn't play WoD when we waited 5 months for a patch and we all got was a selfie camera and a few quests.

And now people are complaining about new zones.

    We're so going to Undermine.

I love the multiple variations they're doing for transmog sets, but I really dislike the stark solid saturated color being the main difference. Feels very Power Rangers. Get some undyed materials in there.

Time to introduce a goblin sub-race as an Allied Race.

Let's go hobgoblins. Or maybe... void goblins.
