Mayb we dismissed the supposed leak too quickly.

As much as I want new specs mid-expansion, what would that mean for hero talents? It would make more sense if enhance & resto mysteriously only had one hero spec option at launch because they'd be sharing with this new Tank spec like Druids do. And I don't see any of the existing Shaman hero talents work with a tank spec. It doesn't seem possible.

Nope, it's a new spell. Maybe a hint at the future tank spec (or just a visual shaman effect, like the rune for the warlock; the wolf for the hunter etc)

Nothing that's particularly new there, but its interesting that she refers to the voices she hears as a 'goddess'.

We obviously don't know anything about their society and how much they know of the World Soul, so this might be pretty straightforward label, but i wonder if she could maybe be conflating Azeroth with Elune?

They could have merged the undermine and rootlands patch es planned while Danuser was still there, so we get a new final patch planned by Metzen to better link the TWW finale with Midnight/The World Soul Saga.

You do realize the entire Worldsoul Saga was likely planned by Danuser and Metzen in tandem, yeah? Meaning, before Danuser left, he and Metzen most likely worked on the initial story beats for each expansion, as well as the narrative plans for the patches.

This would give Metzen a proper roadmap to work from.

I'd like for them to expand on the Hero Talents ngl. Putting new abilities in the trees would help a ton.

TBF, the leak never said that we would get a Shaman tank spec in TWW. It's quite possible we get the new Shaman spec in 12.0 when the hero talents would likely change anyway.

Thoughts on the time table for 11.1 release?

Looks like 11.0.7 will be coming on 7th January which means 11.1 will be released during March. Not sure why people say February when we already know what their patch cadence is and there's no reason to change it.

If we look back at Zereth Mortis, they showed how the First Ones harnessed sound for everything they did. They even showed the one construct rattling off the names of the 6 forces almost like the First Ones themselves were a combination of the 6. Could this be the force they recently called "Sonic" damage in some patch notes? Murmur had to come from somewhere. Look at the blast wave it left behind too.

So maybe Azeroth is a baby First One, infused with all 6 forces, and the other First Ones are dead? A Sepulcher is a tomb after all. If Azeroth is the final First One to be born, it would be a huge deal.

Absolutely. If 11.0.7 were coming out in 2025, that means season 1 would last at least 6+ months; absolutely not. 11.1 is coming out last week of February at the absolute latest. We can expect 11.0.7 in 3 or 4 weeks.

If anything the Direct is going to cover 2025 developments, not 2026. I don't care what people are saying 12.0 is 100% not coming out in 2025

I expect there will be more of them. Though I think it would be possible for a Tank Shaman to get two wholly original hero specs mid expansion. That would free them up to add an odd number of specs with or without the pretense of an expansion release. Either one new hero spec for each class (not each spec) per expansion, or at least one new hero spec for all existing specs over the course of the entire saga.

I would prefer Shaman, Druids & Paladins for all instead, tho.

The First Ones aren't in the Sepulcher. Danuser confirmed this a while back. It's called the Sepulcher cause it's a name that evokes Death.

Also, Azeroth is the Prime Worldsoul. What the Worldsouls truly are however is unknown beyond what Chronicle told us, which may or may not be bullshit. As for Murmur? Always considered that to be Disorder themed rather than Progenitor themed.

Well we don't know that they will change. That said, if perhaps they add more Hero Talents, they don't need to keep them as balanced per spec as they had to be on release. So I'd say as long as each spec gets a new Hero Talent available it'd be OK and for Shaman it could be dual spec Hero Talents like the ones we got covering the Tank spec and two others.

So do lots of other guys, yet Blizzard still repurposed them for the current lore. Heck, look at Dimensius, who was introduced in TBC as well.

...or 28 months. Why are you proposing Midnight would be less than 16 months? Are you saying its more likely to be released in 2025 or 2027? Because both ideas are ridiculous. Midnight is coming out in 2026. They didn't say TWW would be shorter than Dragonflight, they just said people won't have to wait till the end of 2026 for Midnight come out.

Interesting to see that Siren Isle will experiment with a "hard mode" of sorts that prevents flying. Hopefully it's a success so it can be replicated across the entire world later. So much content that feels wasted when you just skip over it ignoring everything.

Yeah I don't mind it. I honestly don't like being able to fly immediately as we set foot on a new continent. Just doesn't let me enjoy the zones as much as grout flying does.

Again, with the Dragonflight lifespan, War Within would last until around May or June of 2026, which isn't really a shorter expansion at all.

So if they want to check that box and fulfil their promise of faster expansions, then they'd have to release Midnight in February of 2026 at the latest imo. They would then have cut about 3-4 months off the expansion lifespan, which seems all right.

But up to 6 months or so could also be possible, meaning around November 2025 at the earliest for Midnight.

If we assume it's February 2026 and also that Midnight and TLT will last about as long as WW, then the Worldsoul Saga would be done by around the Holidays of 2028/2029, which fits with what Blizzard has said.

But they already did, with TWW. 10.2.7 was in May, then TWW pre patch was in July. That's two months. Not even a drought.

Midnight could come out in January 2026 if a 11.2.6 patch doesn't exist like last time.

From 10.0.2 until 10.2.5 the 8 week cadence was solid. Logically the next patch would've been 10.2.7. Except they changed it a bit.

If they skip a x.2.6 then it will come out in January. If they don't then it's coming out in March.
