Nightfall = dark arathi megadungeon?

You guys are really setting yourselves up to be disappointed here. It says new content, not new megadungeon. They specify Dungeon in two places for, well, new dungeons. Why wouldn't they outright say "new megadungeon" if it were one?

I want to say it was during Shadowlands, or the Blizzcon when DF was announced when Metzen talked about housing being something they were open to, but which needed a good long wait while they brainstormed how to make it feasible.

I assume whatever the technical system limitations that came into play in WoD with choosing location for the garrison that had to be scrapped is related to housing. I think they want to give people options where to place it.

Soooo is housing part of that "Midnight features will blow your minds" we had few months ago? Hope there is more to that, not a big fan of housing.

Might have some stuff beyond housing ngl.

For example, I don't believe for a second that Midnight's JUST a Quel'thalas update. After housing getting announced, I think Midnight being a Northern EK revamp would be peak
But it is also possible they'll just give players housing at the area north of Stratholme, which tbf...could also be part of a Northern EK update.

I think it's literally just the name of the next story campaign. Nightfall > Midnight > Dawn of the Last Titan - If it were a dungeon, they'd say it was a dungeon.

You can also go back and look at the 2023 roadmap where they just label "megadungeon". If it were one, they'd label it as such here. But they didn't.

Housing? Very curious to see what they do with it.

Also curious that 11.2 doesn't have a new zone tho. They've been pretty diligent about adding one of those with every major patch for the last two expansions.

It is pretty surprising. Especially given Rootlands was already a place partially made on internal dev maps. So we know there was some work done on it.

Could be a mistake. Or could be the zone isn't large enough to warrant advertising it as a new zone.

Siren Isle is listed under "New Content" for 11.0.7 so I wouldn't count it out. The 11.2 graphic is clearly a placeholder since they don't want to announce the specifics yet.

It's not impossible that the graphic is misleading in some fashion, but I'll keep expectations under control. Would be a bit weird to go directly from Undermine to the final raid of War Within, whatever that might be.

Nightfall coming at the same time as revisited Horrific Visions makes me believe it's likely some sort of world event where Xal starts plunging the place into darkness.

Agreed, but x.1.5 patches have been the megadungeon patches for a few expansions now. Getting a new dungeon per patch is new, so it's possible those are taking over for the megadungeon. But regardless, I think that they will continue the theme of having the x.1.5 patch plant the narrative seeds that will grow in the next expansion. Maybe Nightfall is a world event where darkness slowly takes over Azeroth.

The faction of Arathi that worship the Void have the Nightfall Sanctum delve already, so yeah, probably something related to them.

Oh yeah I do think it'll be a narrative thing, to be sure but I see nothing there that indicates a megadungeon. If it were one, they'd list it, like I keep saying.

How do you arrive here? Nightfall Sanctum is the name of the home base of the Arathi void cultists aligned with Xala'tath.

I'm perfectly content with no megadungeon if that means the x.1.5 patch is something on par that furthers the story in a new way.

Also looks like they cut the idea that each season would have a new delve companion, as we still have Brann in Season 2. So maybe it's each expansion?
