All blood elfs would be high elfs, void elfs would likely count as a separate race all together if nightbourn do.

But when people say they want to play “high elfs” they mean the remaining Veressa aligned political group not just the race and neither the blood or void elfs are that.
Evil only wins when it spreads. It can cause destruction, it can cause death—but those are consequences of its nature, not its victory. Not its goal. The danger of evil, the purpose of evil, is that it causes those who would oppose it to become evil also.

This might be just me, but i think this part may be important for Midnight. In my speculations, the Naga will be a BIG part of Midnight, with Queen Azhara being a big part of that expansion overall. She might be a villain once again, or a new untrustworthy ally (like Sylvanas and Gallywix before). And i think Naga can make a great allied race and a great source for a new class.
Azshara doing something in the Saga was teased back in Forbidden Reach, and based on what we've learned since then, it sounds like her acting in Midnight would fit it best. And they'd fit the Elven unification storyline very well.

Personally, I'd love for them to get added with a Sea Witch class. I don't think it's too likely of an outcome- especially compared to a Void-themed class- but I'd love to play that.

As for Azshara, I really think she'd be best used as a (temporary) ally, or an unfought third party who just causes chaos. Either way, she should survive the Saga and come out of it in a stronger position. It would be a huge waste to use her as a Void underling and mid-expansion boss yet again, particularly when her BFA story had her plotting to betray the Void (before being tortured by N'zoth's servants). Her willingly serving under another again just doesn't feel right for her character. Better to build her up to use her as a later expansion's main antagonist.

    This is a reductive point.

You can sort of be a High Elf like you could sort of be Mag'har with the brownest orc skin tone pre-BFA. Void Elves nor Blood Elves will ever be High Elves though because they will always have their racial RP in game, no matter what the player thinks. Some people truly want to play a High Elf in that sense.

The idea of racial overhaul into Races > Subraces would allow this to be a bit more accesible for players.

WoW Goblins have always felt more like New Jersey to me.

Why are you all pretending Alleria won't be the character featured in the Midnight promotion.

This is also reductive. The Developers have directly stated Void elves & Blood elves are high elves. Still asking for High Elves after everything they've already given the two high elf races is like asking for an entirely new playable race of mag'har to represent ones from Outland instead of Draenor. It's ridiculous.

No, I genuinely think that they are going to do something with Blood Elves/Void Elves and make them into a neutral Thalassian race that starts off in New Quel'thalas and picks a faction (Quel'dorei/Sin'dorei) in the story. Old Velves/Belves will probably be untouched, somehow, while new Thalassians will follow this path.

There is WAY too much red tape around "White Elves" in Warcraft for casual players and Blizzard is just going to free it up by letting people go Ally/Horde with no void or fel/light baggage. Also makes the expansion faction agnostic instead of just Lol Horde.

Surely, Blizzard has not given enough screentime to the Alliance.

While TWW is BASICALLY Alliance with the kinds of races that appear, it still isn't literally just Alliance. QT expansion without getting into Gilneas/Arathi would actually be one faction's areas.

They're not talking about future promotion. They're explicitly mentioning the housing teaser we already have, which featured a male Elf in an Alliance house (with, at the very least, a hair style that Void Elves don't seem to have).

I don't think the random test character in the housing trailer is a sign one way or the other of changes to how the races are. Its just an early trailer.

Now, don't get me wrong, I'd like VElves removed from the game and replaced by HElves, but I'm pretty sure its just a test character and not a sign they're changing how the BElves and VElves work

I read the wowhead article on the latest Exploring Azeroth book. It mentions that the Shrine of the Storm and Old God altars have been cleansed of corruption.
But does the book make any mention of what happened to the Crucible of Storms after N'zoth's defeat? Surely there should either be an Old God corpse still directly under the Shrine of the Storm, or a giant cavern if N'zoth moved his whole body into Ny'alotha, right?

And he is also using the rogue Artifact appearence for the HD thunderfury .... going with that logic they are removing the class restrictions from them aswell (or allowing rogues to transmog warrior locked plate).

Goblin content is a lot of things, but depressing isn't one of them.

I'd say Kezan, Bilgewater harbour and the Motherlode did not exactly look glamorous.

Do you really think they'd give player housing but also restrict customization by race? That would piss housing people off more than giving them nothing at all. (Housing is definitely going to be warband bound so it won't be racially or faction restricted)

Please tell me you all don't think wow housing will be non-instanced like FFXIV? A feature revolving around furniture items less than 5000 players can actually participate in because of lot space restrictions. The worst mmo feature ever designed.

Many people on this forum only play elves / only want elf lore / complain when elves arent always winning / want more elf hero classes like Alleria void hunter.

Being racist towards WoWs fantasy races are a compromise for being IRL racist. Why are the blue eyed blond haired skinny white elves the most popular requested race in WoW by far?
