Didnt we have the same thing before DF when all content creators were making videos about "DRAGON ISLES NEXT EXPANSION!!!!"? Same thing for Shadowlands iirc. This could certainly be it.

BFA ending patches were halfway between Death (8.2.5) and Dragons (8.3) so Dragon Isles were very likely, especially considering they were namedropped for the first time ingame. It wasn't a bad guess, and DF basically kicks off after 8.3, meaning that patch basically sets up Dragonflight conceptually.

I think the closest thing for this expansion is Light vs Revamp, though I think a Revamp could have many different themes. I don't think the Pirates or Azshara have that many hints over expansions even though they may logically feature in a Revamp and/or Light expansion.

We should be expecting 10.2 to be live by Blizzcon. Or at a minimum in late testing stages because of the roadmap.

Yeah. And going by the testing cycle so far, 10.2 will be on PTR for at least two months.
They’re probably gonna announce it when 10.1.7 hits live.

Alright, looking back at 8.3 it was revealed a few weeks before BlizzCon. My mistake.

The Dream/Tree being announced so early may also shift around how reveals are happening this expansion. We don't even know if the tree will be the zone or the Dream will!

So even by your "calculations" they would reveal patch 3 weeks before it goes live?

Considering the Developer Chat is a video, we may get BOTH a 10.1.7 announcement + 10.2's announcement, or at least a 10.2 hint. It's very possible 10.1.7 will be the lead in to the Dream.

It's for 10.1.5. Embers of Neltharion developer chat was week before launch too.

When it's time for reveal, you see "in development" blue post/video. And why the hell they would talk about 10.2, it will be revealed when they will be done with 10.1.7, it's not Blizzcon.

I still think the most likely thing is that 10.2 is the Argus-tier patch with multiple zones. A green zone, the tree itself, and maybe a thruway to Elune's realm in the Lifelands that's just a single area.

It being 3 zones would be cool. I honestly would be a bit shocked if we didn't see Elune or so in 10.2. But if not, that's okay.

Considering the players involved, and the active Legion-SL-DF story where they blew everyone's minds by making Ysera more connected to Elune than Eonar, it would be an active pivot away from their telegraphed plans if she didn't appear. She even finally got a voice last expansion.

I fail to see how that could possibly blow anyones mind, when Eonars and Yseras relationship is non-existent outside of 1 short interaction they had at the request made by Freya, which was setup by Tyr.

Whereas Yseras has always had a deepseated frienship with the Nelves since Nelves have been a thing and is actively involved in Elunes affairs due to her status as Dreamer and adopting Cenarius to raise him in Elunes stead.
