This is a bafflingly good implementation. How will they fuck it up?
Dickmann's Law: As a discussion on the Lore forums becomes longer, the probability of the topic derailing to become about Sylvanas approaches 1.

Tinkers will be the next Class confirmed.

It looks like a proper, expansion-worthy feature. Very nice job Blizzard, keep it up.

I am honestly unsure at this point since they even allow clipping of furniture which past Blizzard would definitely be extremely against. That was when lightbulb went up for me that they're completely out of their rockers.

I don't think they're fucking this up. This was a flawless article.

Obviously the Furniture MTX situation is where things can go super awry though. Infinite Purchaseable, Bundling and on a Timer could be in the cards cause this Housing System sure looks expensive based on what they've accomplished.

I am legit shocked they're allowing the clipping, but I am 100% not unhappy with that, because it'll allow for some real good work for sure. I am beyond amazed.

Oh! And dyes! And rather robust too!

At this point, the only ones that could fuck it up are the shareholders with an unecessary ingame shop. And, of course, the players, if they don't fight against said shop.

    MMO Champs :

The fact that you can - change the texture of walls, floors and ceilings, scale furniture up and down to any size, clip furniture into each other and walls, rotate and tilt on every axis, being able to dye furniture, but going so far as to let players not just move window but change the entire layout of the house, including wall placement etc - already makes it the most comprehensive housing decorating system out of all the major MMO's that have housing - by a wide margin

The only place where the housing system falters is going with a neighbourhood syetm where everyone is forced to have houses near other houses in the same orc/human themed biomes

    Fuck.

How many thousands of hours we are going to lose decorating our house?

This looks amazing. Good job Blizzard.

Now just give me a ranged DH spec and I promise to never ask for anything else.

    Like really, shockingly perfect.

This is the decorative freedom that i was always fantasizing about but was not actually expecting to get.

The housing stuff is insanely good, like dang, i'm impressed! I love that you can scale the decorations however you want and with the other decorations on top too? Hell yes.

Wash the dishes to gain Housing Tender. Vacuum. Extra tender if you lift the carpets and move the furniture

The most likely way to fuck it up at this point would be poor implementation of aquiring furniture. Specifically in this case, nowhere to gain them outside In-game shop and Trading Post.
Generally low variety in furniture as well.

I'm amused at how much of a turn around I've gone on housing. The MMOs I played before WoW had housing (Ultima Online, and then Anarchy Online) but I never really used them much (the apartment in AO was pretty neat though), and honestly don't even recall doing it in UO to begin with (I was too new with MMOs there). So I wasn't expecting too much but now I'm pretty giddy at the idea of setting up the perfect mage's atelier. This stuff looks great! I'm especially over the moon with the dying system, I love trying to coordinate so being able to make everything work together is great.

I pray exterior design is as varied as this!

The housing article blew my expectations out of the water. I am absolutely gobsmacked.
It looks incredible. It is what most everyone wanted but expected to compromise on, except there's no compromise. They've gone above and beyond with this system, and I hope the overwhelmingly positive feedback reaches them.

Also I wonder if this confirms the benchmark for doodads/furniture is DF, as the oldest furniture I can see is the Bel'ameth Night Elf assets. Unless I'm missing something.

I don't see any reason BFA/DF would be missed besides general hate for those expansions. The Islands have good HD props and are popular, and SL for all its fault at least has some good looking stuff.

I think aesthetically the oldest they should go is Pandaria but I also wouldn't be opposed to an HD refresh on their assets. And then of course some old items for nostalgia's sake, especially as it doesn't look like we are getting Vanilla and Outlands revamps.

They said older assets can be placed, but they won't be customizable. So that will probably include stuff from older expansions. I do expect race customizations to get an HD update tho, so maybe no need to use Human Inn furniture from classic or whatever.

Also, if we can dye the exteriors of our house, and potential use options from other cultures on Azeroth, that'll be sick asf.

Why? Cause that means I can possibly make a WC2-esc Human and High Elven house.

Oh, but they are the same.

From the page on Void Lords:

"Dimensius the All-Devouring was one such void lord who manifested in the physical universe. Aligning with what Chronicle said about how weaker void lords are when manifesting, he was described as a fragment, shadow, and echo of a true void lord's power, and Xal'atath said to be eagerly awaiting the day one would be able to "truly pass into this realm".[4]"

    https://warcraft.wiki.gg/wiki/Void_lord

And how does his fragment appear in the game?

As a voidwalker type of voidlord.

So yes, all voidwalkers and voidlord "elemental" style mobs are in fact many shards of a single whole, that whole being a Void Lord like Dimensius.

And to think people thought you wouldn't even be able to put decorations wherever you wanted. Have some god damn faith.

I better be able to sprout up some trees to put my clothesline on on my Druid.
