It's pretty obvious that Ethereals are coming with the Midnight pre-order. We help them in the final stretches of TWW and they become playable in the followup, like what happened for the Nightborne/HM tauren/LF draenei.

"High Elves" will probably come as customisation for Velves and Belves.

Where the Haranir fit in this is the question for me as I find it pretty hard to believe that they will not become playable at some point.

It's 50/50 on Haranir getting dropped for Ethereals or they are just marketing Karesh and Midnight very early because it's more hype than Rootlands.

I don't think there was this massive upheval in production between DF & TWW... The Worldsoul Saga's main story threads (dark heart, Titan interference) were established in Dragonflight. If anything it seems the harronir were an intentional attept to give the cosmic story a nature throughline. Otherwise you have three expansions about Robot miners, hardcore magic & then deus ex machina. It needs a sort of tribal mysticism to even out the story.

How do you even qualify that when Blizzard already established the next expansion is "The Silvermoon Expansion." This thread is about retail speculation & retail speculation for 2026 - 2028 is going to be about high elves. Take it up with Blizzard.

Let's all face the facts here: Blizzard are not shy of adding multiple varieties of the same race, if they think it fits the story. Especially if they think it'll help boost sales.

No, Earthen are Dwarves for the Horde.

This is true.

Like I said, I think if they weren't added at this point its because they just don't want to continue their story or write them a new one. Every new AR is somewhat of a commitment they make to continue that races story. Even if its only a tiny bit here and there. So I guesss its really just a question of if we will see the rootlands at all in 11.2 or was it completely ditched?

Wait, I am pretty sure Tuskarr can wear armor? Not all slots but they can wear most. I guess it's similar to naga but since mechagnomes (and far worse with Dracthyr) it felt like wearing everything was no longer important.

I mean, its not impossible that they've shifted that storyline to Midnight or TWW or even outside this saga, but I doubt it.

Any ideas on why the Midnight logo looks like it has shattered glass arounnd it? Is it meant to represent the Dark Heart being shattered, or the Titans' grip on the worldsoul being shattered, or what?

It is a common style for cosmic void that was established during DF, it can also be seen in the void elf racial that got it in the 11.0.7 patch


As for why shattered glass: It is likely to reflect the shattering of reality, and the infinite time ways they see, each a possible reflection.

Something I've noticed with the shop toy, but when you change into one of Zuldrak boss it now indicates that you're a frost troll. I knew it was showing vrykul and naga, but the frost troll stuff seems kind of new to me ? Is there a way to check when the race tag was added ?

It has been a race tag for a long while, AFAIK.

can't tell you, but the wowhead modelviewer also lists ice troll under the NPC races. i'm sure in the past it only had forest troll. But the ice troll model looks old, certainly Wrath era

Seems weird. From what I've remembered, whenever you had a forest / frost troll morph, you were still considered as your own race. Seems pretty obvious those two troll races are going to be playable someday anyway.

Because its the new cosmic void aesthetic, which has shattered glass as part of its style.

a very strange dragon, that looks quite like a crocodile, with golden ornaments that remind me of either zandalari or lightforged.

Not sure what to make of it. It doesn't fit anything of the past expansions. Might be fitting for Amani? Or perhaps Avaloren/Arathi empire dragons that are an offshoot of green dragons?

I wonder how obvious will be 11.1.7 intro quests. This time there is no big event to spoil 11.2 sooner, so I hope they'll do better job than DF where we could guess underground patch and emerald dream from datamining alone, so hiding questlines from PTR was useless.

Still, 11.0.7 was far better, they used Orweyna and hide obvious datamining, so we weren't sure until Direct. So I hope for something similar, so we will see some Ethereals through datamining that won't give us more info we have today, on patch day we will be 99% sure what's next and 11.2 will be revealed same week.
