I'd rather she be a bit more outwardly antagonistic than Bolvar, but I definitely agree she ought to remain a recurring villain instead of an expansion villain doomed to death. My preferred system would be to have her remain an actively-hostile secondary villain for the most part, but occasionally have objectives in line with our own. I think we need more unstable, constantly-shifting accords with different characters and factions like Warcraft III had; it was, in my mind, part of what made the story much more fluid and realistic than the MMO overall.

Arthas didn't go crazy and wasn't corrupted when cleansing Stratholme, it was just a necessity to him. That's what people want to see with the main characters, tough choices and shitty ones that must be done because you don't have the perfect solution every time.
That's what I've liked as well about the promo videos for dragonflight where you see Neltharion giving to the Old Gods in order to defeat Razsageth.
The more righteous and the more prepared a character is the more I expect them to make a tough a sometimes shitty choice because things are going in a way that they didn't plan for
And most of what he does after killing his father makes little sense to the character because of said corruption/madness. That whole part of wc3 kind has never been part of what I've liked about the story.
Just like many stories about the forsaken just fail to grab me. They now are in a situation where the writers could be very imaginative and tell stories that give character to the forsaken but I'm fearing that having Calia part of the head of the forsaken is a big hindrance to that.

At the same time, they also upped the ante for what is considered acceptable. The problem grows with the available resources precisely because more resources means they can do more, so more becomes the norm and expectation.

No, he was already off his rocker even before that point. He went way deeper into it after, but he was already nuts even going after it in the first place.
The fish is interesting.
As someone who's always wanted a true underwater expansion I'm never getting my hopes up for that.
If its Avaloren, maybe Nightsquall uses these fish to reach it.
If its South Seas maybe a race like Jinyu would have them at the flight masters.
If its a revamp I'm unsure where we could see them. The saddle does seem to give off Naga/night elve vibes. Naga however do not normally ride things as pretty/majestic as that. Maybe Nightsquall rides a fish.

This. Her character serves a stronger purpose to be a reluctant ally. She can revert to being a villain a few expansions down the line, but her characterisation and fan opinion of her lends itself better to keep her around as someone who occasionally collaborates with us to further her own means.
An interesting possibility in regards to Avaloren would be the previous theory about the Dragon Isles. That Avaloren is actually a floating continent way up in the clouds. Can the fish fly do we know? Nightsquall could be a sky pirate. I don’t think we’ve seen sky pirates in WoW yet.

Longer build up or characterization of villains at least in WoW is far better then quick intro and offing(And yeah I know Razageth fits this technically but we did see her through out the leveling and her arc ended well, course if she got reanimated back to life(Decay, Undeath whatever) I wouldn't complain.This. I actually kind of love the idea of Azshara being our “guide” when it comes to visiting Avaloren. She may know of it from the pre-sundering days, and it could have been a rival nation to her empire on Kalimdor.
Have it played out as the “enemy of my enemy is my friend” as we explore Avaloren and fight the heretics there. She’s there for her own reasons such as “seeking the true throne of power”, and she joins up with us as she’s potentially been there before and knows the land, the races, some of the leaders. Really play it as a tense partnership but we need her expertise of the land and it’s people.
Basically the expansions Lorewalker Cho/Khadgar/Illidan/Magni/Bolvar/Alextrasza.

Yes same, we have seen her do her thing against us already, we know she ia powerfull. Having her go neutral or be some sort of guide will let us see another side of her.
We could learn alot.. from her and besides killing her again for loot.. how boring. A voidform Azshara makes no sense to me, i had the feeling she was trying to get away from that. Its way more fun if she has her own agenda, like many speculated and hoped apon pre bfa. She actually did if you think about it..
She is cool she should stick around this time.

Btw since I am sure a lot of people here don't check much of the rest of the Forum, the merger seems to have cleared all obstacles. FTC failed at their injunction and the UK's regulator (the CMA) has pretty much folded, asking the tribunal to pause so they are very likely to pull their block back as well.
If next expansion will be pirate themed then microsoft can do crossover with sea of thieves. s
Definitely curious what this will mean for the future of WoW. I could absolutely see there being a push somewhere before or at 12.0 to put WoW onto XBox consoles, similar to how so many other MMOs are now on console. Possible as well that Microsoft adds it to GamePass, hoping to get more eyes on it and more subscribers to each.
