Regardless of the size of the patch, people will be ready for new content in Winter. No patch can go for months without people losing interest.

I will say that between the success of 11.1 and the raid renown people will keep engaging with it for longer than usual. Not to mention getting all the cartel reps.

11.2 is the most mysterious patch in a while IMO, I am really excited for it. 12.0, 12.1, and pretty much all of TLT seem very predictable so 11.2 and 12.2 are the ones I am most curious about. If 11.2 really is K'aresh then 12.2 may be something very cool and unexpected.

Nah news sites still have Horrific Vision talk to do this week (the Orgrimmar rares etc) and from Tuesday on they will talk Dastardly duos. I don't expect us to get more news until they run out of retail content to talk about (and we could always get some surprise Classic announcement in between, what with SoD being completed)
I think the timegate is more to get people playing through the whole patch, not so much delaying things. Ion said as much (and that they likely won't do it again LOL)

What's bizarre is that it never ended up being a plot point- every single character we meet is from our timeline. So that idea clearly got scrapped.

Honestly, from what they've shown, the UI looks really good right now. They seem to be putting in a lot of effort.

However, I'm still waiting for them to show us how the exterior customization will be done and what the limits are. I hope there will be an option to match the interior to the exterior where possible if the interior isn't overly large. I like cohesion and this is really going to throw me off.

Here is the thing. The interior is probably far easier to make modular than the exterior. Building exteriors are not about maximalist placement of doodads (the WoW aesthetic), they are about impactful shape and layered textures. Exteriors require some level of CAD elements, interiors vastly less so, you need to shape levels and link them together but that's it.

Also building exteriors not matching interiors is completely on brand with WoW

I mean, it doesn't look like we'll be able to customize the exterior shape of the house beyond a drop down menu and maybe some color choices.

I'm happy with this. I understand the want, but having externals that drastically change reduces the need for more plots a little.

I'm sure they'll come in time, but if a 'Undercity' neighbourhood is ever announced, it'd be less hype if we could already have undead homes elsewhere. Although I'm sure internally people will craft some decent Tim Burton houses.

I think it's fine for the house themes to come before the neighborhoods. That way the devs can focus on developing the hood zones instead of having to juggle the zone development AND house assets.

For example, I think with Nelf house happening there will also be a Belf house at launch, as both of those have interior room themes as well, but they will come out before any elf neighborhoods. I'm curious if Goblin will be getting an interior/exterior theme.

At this point, I expect a 11.2 trailer at Summer Game Show with a WoWcast immediately afterwards.

Had no idea it was as early as next Friday. That would line up with Taliesin saying news is around the corner.

Maybe a "tune in to the game show" post sometime next week beforehand?

Well, the Microsoft Showcase is on Sunday, which is probably the most likely place where it'll be shown.

The lore development that's been in the game since Wrath you mean?

No, the idea that the titans were amoral, utilitarian beings of order in excess whose plans should be taken with scrutiny and need to be resisted was in the game since Wrath. The idea that the endgame of the cosmology boils down to the liberation of Azeroth the Souper-Spehsul One from the malevolent plans of incoherent one-note cosmic powers is a later development.

woah truthnuke. after all, what other modern media has the ever-important, super-duper subversive and novel take of "nebulously-defined freedom axiomatically good"? that's completely novel man it's just groundbreaking. woo-hooooooooooo. i can't wait to have any potentially interesting explorations of the meaning and consequences of freedom be completely irrelevant because freedom is an axiomatically good thing all the time

idk why you are expecting ground-breaking moral dilemmas from Warcraft of all things.

After they set up the realm for 11.2.5 yesterday, 11.2.5 is now on the encrypted wowdev endpoint.

    I'd say it's a 50/50 chance we get the 11.2 announcement either on June 8th or 25th.
The 25th is way too long IMO, they know people are getting burnt out on 11.1.5. I think June 8th (or 6th, for whatever reason if it shows up at the premiere) makes sense as it is exactly the kind of broad-appeal patch announcement that would draw heads, if it's a TBC-themed space patch with Xal'atath showdown.

If it's Rootlands they will go hard on druid forms. But god I hope it's not that.
